Venom and Charms

How does poison damage from Charms in your inventory sync up with Venom? I've been told having poison charms is a bright idea when using Venom, but didn't get details on it.

Poison charms are bad idea when using venom, the skill converts all poison damage to over 0.4 seconds.

I though it was a god idea because venom has the PSN damage of 0.4 sec time and what ever added psn damages you get be it from charms or another claw it adds that psn damage and still gives it that 0.4 duration. so 100 psn scs would not longer have that 10 sec duration (or what ever it is) they would now have 0.4.

Venom just reduces the time the poison charm effect lasts, rather than compressing all the damage as you would hope. So your charm ends up doing very little additional damage.

x seconds of poison dmg gets lowered to 0.4 seconds worth, the poison dmg on charms goes down with the time, waste of space.
