Max Block Question

For a Windy using Stormshield should I have 75% Block Chance on the Character screen or 67%? I'm confused how the 67% "Chance to Block" on the shield itself actually plays into the blocking formula. Please explain :)

75% on the character screen is max block. The 67% is just there to look pretty ; )

Ya, the block chance on the shield is really just part of the overall equation for blocking...check out fenris' guide, it has a basic lowdown on the actual equation. He only calculates data for the Stormsheild, but the equations there in all its prettiness :D

Total Blocking = [(Blocking * (Dexterity - 15)) / (Character Level * 2)]

Blocking = A total of the Blocking on all of your items. (E.g: Guardian Angel, Twitchthroe, Any Shield, Holy Shield)
[] = Round Down

Note: Blocking on shield shown in game is capped at 75% while it may actually be higher. For a true account of most shields blocking ability... Look here forUnique, Set, and Magical/Rare shields. (for magical/rare, add the Blocking % from the suffix to the base blocking)

You misunderstood my post. I wasn't looking for the exact formula and I did search for the answer to my question first. I was wondering if my "max block" should be 67% due to the chance to block on SS or 75%. That was answered in the first post rather nicely :)

But now you know how that 67 percent factors in to the equation to get you maximum blocking. There's nothing wrong with a deeper understanding of the underlying game mechanics. :p
