well, i haven't read any of them, still waiting for my first Diablo book (sin war 1) to drop through my mailbox..
but, will there be new books, following the history, when the new game arrives?

misleading topic, anyway i would not mind a new book if it was tied into the lore of diablo, not just a random side story

1. The Sin War: Birthright
2. The Sin War: Scales of the Serpent
3. The Sin War: The Veiled Prophet

then it goes from Sin Wars to

4. Demonsbane
5. The Black Road / Diablo I
6. Legacy of Blood / Diablo II
7. The Kingdom of Shadow / Diablo II
8. Moon of the Spider

So the books don't get to the game until the fourth book? I played D1 and D2 but it has been a while and I have kind of forgotten the story line. I would like to read all the books before DIII but hopefully I won't have time:thumbsup:

Yeah, the books don't get directly involved with the game, however some take place during the game. The Sin War will give ya a good feeling as to all of the forces in play and who's who and what's what. The ones after that will just give you some detailed looks at what the world's like, give ya a better picture to settle on. Also, Knaak (author of what, 5 of those books) is working with the creator of Diablo (Metzen) directly for the story.... so pretty much what he writes will be relevant to future plans. He once said in an interview that the two main characters (a Necromancer, and a head) are going to be very important to the future of Diablo 3. Anyone gonna bet they'll be in the game?
Just on a side note.... I have a feeling that we're gonna see some returning classes in D3 as NPCs or in cut scenes.... with the new graphics and lack of finished action in D2, I think we're going to see a cinematic with a Necromancer doing some bad *** stuff, if not a few Necros. Why I added that? Because it'll fit perfectly into the lore.

I would read 7, 8, 1, 2, 3 as 7 introduces a character seen in 8 and 8 introduces one seen in the sin war. hmmm.. why don't I recognize 4... have I missed one?... oh an ebook only... ***.

4 is just a short story released in the Diablo archieve crap or whatever it's called... It's a good read.
