I think gold should be shared but the one picking it up should get more than the rest of the party.

I believe that each player will view items drop that only they may pick up. So each player in a party/area will earn their own items. One would assume this extends to gold. Makes a lot more sense than that 'party tax' (I think that was part of D2 at one point IIRC).

Ok, I don't mean to be one of those people who tries to say Diablo3 is WoW2, but that would be kind of dumb to start assigning loot to people. One of the fun things in Diablo2 was the race for the drops, who can click the fastest, who lags and misses out, all that fun stuff. I think sharing gold and giving the player who gets it the larger amount makes the most sense. Leave the items alone though. Even if I'm a barb..... I will get tal rasha drops!
