In my oppinon playing diablo 2 without hardcore is funner, hardcore took away interest in the game, and i didn't feel like I didnt have the honor to play without hardcore. Keep HardCore or no? I say no, but it's not my decision, sure some1 can tell me just not to play, i'm gonna play diablo 3 wether it has Hardcore or not.
I don't know, just thought typing about it might get it off my chest

The triple negative hurts. Hardcore players are just that and won't take too kindly to destroying a way for them to enjoy the series. How does its inclusion affect you again?

Ok, I don't know how the inclusion affect me.
We (HC players) have our own forum and while they havent explicitly confirmed it's inclusion it's been alluded to.

After so many years of playing sc, it gets pretty boring. I switched to playing hc and it opened a whole new playing style (and economy) for me. I wouldn't be playing anymore if it weren't for hc, so I believe it adds longevity to the game.
I say keep it.
I'm a softcore player, but every now and then I will play hardcore just for a change. It adds an extra level of intensity, longevity and challenge to the game.
And like you say yourself - if you don't like it just don't play it.
If D3 doesn't have hardcore, I won't buy it. It's as simple as that. That is all I play and I love the sense of being mortal with it.
Frankly this topic is a bit silly anyway. It's like me saying "I don't play softcore, therefore I believe D3 would be more fun without it as it takes away interest in the game because I lack the honor (or whatever the hell the OP was saying in that part)". Kind of biased, no?

Hardcore is a choice, that's the great thing about it. Nobody makes you play it.

I see no reason at all to eliminate a feature that so many enjoyed, especially when that feature in no way effected those who did not want to use it. I was not a hardcore player, I tried it but after a couple of lag deaths I never went back. I still would vote that they put it back into the game as it hurts no one at all

And yet you said that it took away the interest in the game.
How did it do that?
Were you playing together with someone who insisted on playing hardcore, did you feel like someone forced you to play a part of the game that you did not want to play?

HC is a must have.
First off, I'm a SC player. I loved the challenges of D2 HC, but I always got killed by a hacker using that portal trick... I can see playing HC again if they fix those problems and the game speed. Lag shouldn't have been a problem for me using cable internet, but b.net held us back.
I'm hoping to learn the game and play SC first, after that I'll probably dabble in HC with my favorite class. I love how HC must be slower and that accomplishments are just that much sweeter.
I think there is no reason not to have HC in D3. I would say i was 50/50 as in 50% of the time id play SC and other 50% id do HC. The reason i am 100% pro HC though is it really did extend D2's life for me by a very long period of time. It is so intense and it forces people to actually play more of the game if you didnt have a background in hc already. Very fun, will be great to dabble in it and have my deeds of valor remembered in a new game
HC is probably the only dealbreaker in D3 for me. If it had no HC I wouldn't buy the game.
To me it would be akin to removing pvp, except I wouldn't care if they removed pvp.
HC is most definitely going to be in Diablo III. It just makes sense...

I'm actually surprised you managed to find the power button on your computer.
HC is the reason DII was great! Public games where you never know who will try to kill you!!!! YEAH! That is so fun!
I remember getting tricked a few times; I even lost a barb to pally conversion/thorns. The AI monsters in the game are nothing compared to people with their tweaked little level 9 characters loaded with charms. MMMM I really hope to feel that way again! :jig:

i always thought hc was where people who cried the game was too easy should go. then when they get there, do it alone, dont get help from higher levels

i think it will be impossible in D3. If it's at all like any new games then you will need to team up with other players and everyone will have to take their fall sometimes.

It won't be at all like any new games.
The basic gameplay will be very similar to that of Diablo2. You will be able to solo the entire game.

Teaming up is fun when you manage to find a decent few people. As far as I was aware d2 was made with teamplay in mind; although for me that was sort of ruined because I'd rather not pit my character against cheap teleport hacks.

Being able to team up should only enhance a game, not be required by it. I know d3 wont require it and that’s a big plus for me
i'm definetly a fan of letting HC stay.. just dont play HC, but for some, it's their way of playing.
i've never played HC myself, but i like the thought that someone completes the game, without dying :b
