Like many, I'm jumping back into D2 after a bit of a hiatus, in light of the heaven's sending down news of D3 :)

I'd never delved into the sorc before, always opting for the in-your-face style of the barb, but now I'm ready for something new. I've been lurking for a bit, but specific information on the creation of a Blizzball sorc (Which I have my heart set on) seems scarce. I've read and enjoyed Milady's Knight's guide, and the 12 pages of commentary thereafter, but it's a screenshot of the final result, without advice on the winding road up to it.

Being that this is my first sorc, I'm not sure in which order to go about raising this character. All in fireball, then blizz, then meteor, then GS? All in cold, and then in fire? Vice versa? Or raise them evenly, alternating points between fireball and blizz, then meteor and glacial spike? This is what I'm having trouble deciding upon, and I'd love some input on the matter. Thanks :)

Hello and welcome to the forums!

Best save up some points, so that can spread points between, Fireball, Blizzard, Fire Mastery and Cold Mastery once you reach lvl30. Until then make a "Leaf" runeword staff to add some firepower to your fire skills and some other cheap runwords like Spirit in a sword that you can make as soon as you reach the appripate level.

I would really save up the points and just fill the prerequisites until you reach lvl30. Then you will start out straight as a real powerhouse.

Thanks for the welcome, advice, and speedy reply, Melianor :)

I started playing my sorc the day before my post, so I had already invested some points into Fireball and some pre-req's. This didn't conflict too much with your advice, so I think she'll be fine on her way to blizzball greatness.

Don't worry about a few points you already invested. That will not make the difference at lvl30 and past.
