I've just watched the gameplay demo again (for about the 1000th time :)) and I noticed a couple of times during the video when the camera angle was changed and zoomed in on the characters and I was wondering whether we'll be able to do that or whether it was just part of the demo to show off the character's appearence. I hope we can because one of the things that I disliked about DII was that the camera angle was stationary.

I'm thinking we will be able to, but some of the 'cinematic' portions (like when the boss-monster crawls through the background) seem to indicate otherwise. Maybe it'll lock to a fixed perspective half the time, or only in dungeons? Outdoors seemed fairly free flowing, but the dungeon section had a distinct "back wall".

If we can move the camera, I hope it preserves line-of-sight from the character, i.e. no peeking around corners to see monsters that haven't noticed you yet.

I dont know man, that type of camera angle is one of the trademarks of the diablo series. Personally i like it as it is, it would not feel the same for me with a different one...

I thought they mentioned that the 1/4 perspective angle thingy will be fixed, but you can zoom in and out.
But then again, they can change anything.

But I reckon if you can change angle's then don't make it 360 degrees like WoW...

A fixed camera angle makes for easier game play and thats what they are aiming for. Im sure I remember a source saying it was most likely to be fixed (cant remember though)

I don't think they ever changed the angle during the gameplay video, just zoomed in on the character. That seems like something you can do in game, but it would only be good for vanity's sake (checking out your new gear).

I think there may have been an illusion of changed camera angles because the terrain goes up and down.

It's probably just a vanity camera in the game. In other words you couldn't actually play in the camera.

Sorry if you misunderstood me, but I actually meant zooming in and out, not rotating the camera. Sorry for any misunderstanding lol
