With the Pit lvls 1 and 2 being able to drop any item in the game what is the best class/build to run them with a good amount of MF%?

Fishymancer with maxed CE is the safest build. Hammerdin works also. Wind Druid is also viable. Meteorb is good.

All the builds have 1 thing in common. No immunities in The Pit.

My Strafer is quite efficient in the Pit, but her current MF is low. However, it is generally agreed that kill speed > %MF, so I'd suggest a Strafer as an option, if Grimey's excellent suggestions do not suit you.

Poison necromancer can also work well, my strafer was fun there as well

Ty I'll check out strafer. Would javazon work?

Quick question, do you have to be a certain level to be able to have the high treasure classes drop (for example, in the pit)? I ask just because I remember reading that you had to be lev 93 in order to get all possible gambling outcomes, just curious if this is the same way.

Your character level has no effect on drops.

I seen some chart yesterday that showed the chests, stones, etc. in the pit are all lower level though. Kinda bummed me out. WSK has TC87 chests though.

My poison nec does well there.....although to date ive had nothing but crap unique item wise, I have had some good charms, socketables and jewels though, as well as some nice rares for LLD.

IMHO, Strafer is much faster than Javazon for the pits.

Up'd WWS + lvl 17+ valk + might merc is incredibly cheap/easy way to come out with a top tier pit runner.

My 81 Trap Assassin works wonders in there. Drop 3 LS and 2 DS at the very edge of the screen south then listen to all the corpse explosions :). One set of 5 traps usually clears the whole level 2

I have a lvl 77 Meteorb that I use for pits, and it works well unless you get one of those pesky fire/ cold immune monsters.

The only problem is that even with a decent MF%, you can stil walk away with nothing. My MF% is a little over 375, and I have numerous runs where I get nothing, not even a junk unique.

Magic Find runs are very time consuming, as you have to have a good MF%, and lots of patience. The bets item I have found in pits was on Non ladder, when I got Sheafers Hammer.

Most people talk about killing speed/ ability to stay alive as more important that magic find, but I prefer a higher magic find percentage, just to give me a little better chance of getting something.

The pits, NM memph and hell memph are the places I like best, though I have done those two buildings in the Burial crounds, the crypt and mosoleum.

If you cant get a decent mf% then run pits without any mf. I've found eth zerkers and eth elite armors (good for ebugging) there .. its much like the cow level (except fewer monsters) .. the best items i've got from the pits are a good wisp (from the super chest in lvl2) and an Um rune :)

Poison necromancers are good. There are no poison immunes in the pit, novas cover a large area, and no monster survives a nova.
