ATMA says to find Vipermagi I should run NM Diablo...

I'm not sure if I'm reading ATMA correctly, but when I go in the 1.11 Drop Calculator in that program, it says NM Diablo has the best odds of dropping Vipermagi with 1:101 when MF is 300. Am I reading ATMA correctly? Should I bother running NM Diablo just for this item? Well, it wouldn't just be for this item, apparently Mara's Kaleidoscope has 1:680 odds of dropping from normal Diablo and 1:903 odds of dropping from NM Diablo if this ATMA program is accurate. Which sounds kind of strange for one of the best ammys in the game, but that's what ATMA says. Better yet, according to ATMA Duriel's Shell drops with 1:92 odds. And The Occulus supposedly drops from NM Diablo with 1:384 odds.

Am I reading this right, and if so, is it worth repeatedly killing NM Diablo for this stuff?

You are reading ATMA correctly, but it takes alot more time to run Diablo, no matter Normal, Nightmare or Hell, than for example Mephisto, since you will have to clear the tree bosses to open the seals, before you can kill Diablo.

So this takes alot more time than just running Mephisto for this. You can try to compare the droprates of said items against each other (Diablo/Mephisto) and then calculate the time needed for both runs and put them in relation.

I think you will be better off running Mephisto as fast as you can, than running Diablo.

I would suggest running mephisto too, and maybe even shenk and eldritch too. I got 2 Vipermagis last night, I think I have around 150 mf, one from NM Meph and the other from NM Eldritch.

I found one within my first few runs off of NM meph. He drops some other decent stuff too. I run NM pindle as well, he drops some nice rings and amulets every now and then...

By the way, when using ATMA's drop calculator, make sure to disregard the drop rates for the Diablo with mlvl 110. This is actually DClone, and he only drops Annihilus :)

There it is. That's why the ATMA Drop Calculator looks wierd. All these numbers are for the mlvl 110 Diablo. Sigh. Well, I guess it wasn't a total waste running NM Diablo today, I did get String of Ears and Nightsmoke out of it. Thanks for the info!

If you pwn, cs is faster. Tele to seal bosses own them.. kill diablo. When sometimes finding dura 3 can be pain in the butt. But yeah I would do both mep and dia then prolly eldrich and shenk too.

Ok, I didn't want to start a new thread, so I'm highjacking this one because I have a question about drops. I'm a beginner with Sorc and playing single player atm.

According to Atma, nightmare Andariel has the best chances of dropping Tal'Rasha Adjucation (amulet), but those chances are very low. With 200MF, on /players8 odds are just 1:1259. Some of the other items from this set have better drop rates, but those drop rates refer to Mephisto, whom I can't "glitch" for better droprates (not in single player).

So, if these numbers are correct, I may as well give up on this set now?

It's a normal drop odd (quite a few items have worse odds). If you expect to find everything within 100 runs just don't bother.

Actully ran mephisto for about 2 days straight for viper at first, but totally ignore it after awhile found that it wasnt worth it and started running countess / andy in hell and i found viper 3 times in 1 day, not sure if i were super lucky or not but hey ;p

I got lucky. NM Meph dropped my Vipermagi I think on my 3rd run, and I found Tal Rasha's Adjudication while doing a NM Andarial run -- on lvl 3 from a casket I happened to teleport dirctly beside. i normally don't even bother opening them, but out popped a green ammy. I'm thinking "might be an Angellic, worth picking up, I guess", and BAM -- Tal Rasha's Adjudication.
Not too shabby. Makes up for the fact that (bugged) NM Andarial so far's given me crap.
