broken mf? good mf?

not sure if this is right forum but

i just started hell andy/meph runs with my sorc, i have around 320 mf

all i have been getting off andy is literally gold, and the odd blue - could be something to do with all my gold find???

nothing but low lvl sets and blues off meph..

am i doing something wrong? is there a good range of mf i should have?

320mf is enough, just need patience. sometimes you dont get anything for 50+ runs.

p.s. did you talk to warriv in the game where you killed andy for quest? (apparently theres a bug, if you talk to warriv game will think you're always doing the quest and thus gives you quest drop from andy)

I believe this bug no longer exists, and that Blizz changed things so that every Andy drop is a quest drop.

i removed 39 mf to see any changes, meph is better

That bug still exists. It's certainly not intended that andy always does a quest drop.

jmanja: Andy can't drop white items, especially with her quest drop. Don't think too much, just pack on some MF and keep killing her. The way to get good items is to keep on MFing, having MF just increases the number of uniques/sets you get in the meantime.

what the hell though? when i played season 4 i had pretty much the same set up and never had any problems like this

If she drops potions, you're not getting a quest drop.

Andy can't drop white items. All weapons/armor she drops is automatically at least magical.

Are you sure these drops you're seeing are all from Andy, and not some of her Minion's drops mixed in?

Maybe he doesn't mean "white" as non-magical equippable items like most of us do, but as potions, gems, runes, arrows, scrolls?

There is no fix. Your character probably didn't talk to Warriv after killing Andy for the quest or you went straight on to act 2 after that. If you don't trigger the quest drop bug then you'll get junk alongside items/charms/jewelry/runs/gems. For this character there's nothing that can be done to reverse that, unless you remake it. Try killing her in larger games where the no drop chance reduces so she'll drop more items.

Well, nobody usually noticed since the usual way is to go kill Radamant after Andy, or at least travel east.

Just don't forget to talk to Warriv before you do save and exit...

You can't fix it, that character won't ever get quest drops from andy nor meph. The way I always do it is to make SURE to go to act 2 in the same game the andy quest is done, and I don't do the meph quest at all. This way I can leech meph off of other ppls games (or my own with the other key if I feel like it) and kill andy for two quest drops in the same game. Might even begin to do summoner as well, countess is too much hassle.

I have the feeling that blizz changed the drop rates, I fo meph runs anf full game and in w2 weeks only found 2 arachs and a hoz, most items that drop arerars and magics...
and my mf is pretty decent -400ish

2 arachs and 1 hoz in 2 weeks is exceptionally good drops, actually.

He has a 1/1000 chance of dropping Arachnid Mesh with 400% MF, and a 1/2800 chance of dropping HoZ with 400% MF.

I doubt you've managed that many runs in just 2 weeks :)

Isn't it an advantage then if you are looking for specific jewels/charms or will these be crap too?

Another good trick is to create each game with a character that has not done the Countess quest. Then switch characters to your main MF character. When you kill the Countess the big money chest also pops! Some days I get better runes from that money chest than from the Countess. Normally you can only ever get that chest once.

I wonder if this works with any other quests ? This method is also useful for opening the red portal to Pindleskin (create game with character who has done Anya quest but not Nithalak) while still having the Nithalak waypoint.
