View Full Version : Where to MF as Javazon?
Hi!
I was wondering which areas to MF as Javazon?
I've heard of Eldricht, Shenk, Pindle and the Pit.
Since we don't have a teleport I don't know if running meph, andy etc. is worth it?
Where are you favourite MF spots as a javazon?

Pits, level 85, for the best drops just a short sprint down the path from the cloisters, but also run it with 0 mf for socketable elites and runes. The other 3 can drop stormshield and the like.
You could always put all of your resources into making an Enigma and now you have the freedom to MF anywhere you want to go without having to run.
If you can deal with not having a bow on your alt weapon (which is fine in pretty much every area except chaos sanct.) it's quite easy to hit a 12 frame teleport which is enough to teleport at a decent speed.
I usually run:
Andy, Meph, Baal, Chaos Sanct, Eld/Shenk/Pindle, Pits, Cows
It's a reasonable rotation for finding common but valuable uniques (shako, etc.) as well as high end socketables and runes. Plus with this much variety you don't get bored. I think just running pindle+eld non-stop would give you the best returns on time/value.
All of them should be doable at about level 80-85 with average gear as a javazon. The only expensive part is Enigma, almost everything else can be bought with pgems (assuming USEast Ladder).
"Pits lvl 85", do you mean that I have to be lvl 85 or that the area is lvl 85?
Atm my gear is something like this.
Valk Wing
Titan's
Druiel's
Rhyme shield
2jav 20ias 22mf gloves
thundergod's
waterwalk
+1 skill neck
random rings.
+gheed's
my MF is like 75 :P
Which is better for MFing, Strafer or Javazon? I hate the fact that I see loads of elite packs with mobs and they are all LI :|
Tried Pit now. Can't do it. Way too many LI, standing and jabbing one at a time takes forever. If I meet a pack of ranged elites I pretty much bite the dust :P

Hell cows yo
LF Javazon tears hell cows to shreds, I love watching a Java go to work on some beef ;) I personally perfer my strafer for pits but you can definatly make the Java work great down there. By lvl 85 he is refering to the area level which, amongst other factors, dictate what items can drop where.
What kind of stats do you have where jabbing 1 at a time takes forever? Picking up a might merc wouldn't be a bad idea too.
Might merc + a lot of dex = those LIs in the pit die in 3 jabs or even a few normal shot arrows (without bow skills). I'm not even sure if dex affects jab damage but they shouldn't take too long.
Consider replacing the valk helm with a steelskull (pgems), duriel's with a 4 topaz armor (pgems) / Skullders (if you can afford it), and your boots with some decent rare/MF stats until you can afford war travs.
That would put you at ~220-230 MF without slowing down your kill speed.
Unless you play SP, i.e. with static map, it's imo pointless to run any randomly generated area with a javazon regardless of whether you have Enigma or not - the other classes will simply be faster.
I would prefer a bowzon or a hybrid over a pure javazon for pit-running if you insist on using a zon.
I doubt it. What other classes? A paladin doesn't teleport much faster. They have the potential to teleport a bit faster but if they are going to stack 125+ FCR for a 9 frame teleport then their MF is going to suffer a fair bit.
Have you actually tested a zon with 100+ FCR? It's pretty quick. All it takes is a wiz spike + spirit monarch on switch and you have 75-85%. A griffon's helm puts you at 100%+.
With only +5 skills total (current setup ATM) andy/meph/diablo die within 5 seconds or less. With an infinity merc they are dead in literally 1-2 seconds. This is with sporting up to 400 MF with the ability to have more if you start giving up damage (which is fine in 1 player games if you do have Infinity you can afford to give up some +skills).
A standard MF sorc uses an Oculus + 3 piece tal's set (belt/armor/amulet). This restricts their FCR to 30% which is only 1 frame faster than the zon. They could mix/match gear for a better cast rate but their MF/survivability is going to drop.

Doubt what? Amazon is the slowest class in terms of both running and teleporting - the worst FCR of all and no skill-based FRW. A paladin doesn't need to teleport to outrun a zon.

Actually, I play vanilla SP, and I have little experience with teleporting outside the sorceress class. Unless the area is hot (WSK and such), you can, of course, get along with slower teleporting.

Pure lightning zon is already overpowered on her own. I don't know (and I'm too lazy to check) whether slvl12 Conviction would break the LIs inside the Pit. The truth is that you hardly ever need the full power outside WSK, which allows for various gear customizations. This was my point - a zon has superior damage (an overkill in most places), while she lacks sufficient mobility for large unexplored areas.

I think you get some partial bonuses to FCR from the Tal's set. I'm not sure though, whether that's enough to reach the next BP.

A paladin with 75% FCR casts two frames faster than an amazon with 99% FCR, and yes that is very noticable.

This is complete nonsense, you are forgetting partial set boni and why are you allowing your zon to have a cast switch, but deny this to the pala and sorc?
Ah it's been a while since I built a sorc (actually the last one I made was in 1.09) and I didn't remember the 30% FCR being a set bonus on tal's 3 piece.
This would put the sorc at 10 frames instead of the expected 11.
All I'm saying is, it's possible to get 350-400 MF without worrying about a MF weapon switch while still having a more than acceptable teleport speed while still being able to kill bosses almost instantly with the right items.
Add in one of the best AoE skills in the game (LF) and a ridiculously powerful single target skill (CS) and this makes the javazon a top tier MF'r IMO.
