View Full Version : What is "uber"?
I've seen it mentioned in places, 'über Diablo' and so on. Sounds like a new (after 1.09) feature. What is that?
And what is 'twinked'? This forum should have an D2 lingo sticky.
I had another question but I forgot it since I'm too old, and tired.
Btw, anyone else hitting Diablo II again, because of Diablo III revealed?
Uber Diablo (also known as DClone) is a monster that spawns on the Realms whenever a certain amount of Stones of Jordan has been sold. The first superunique monster you face after the "Diablo walks the earth" message has appeared will instead be Uber Diablo. When defeated, he drops the Annihilus unique small charm. He only appears on Hell difficulty games, although I believe the message appears in all difficulties.
Uber Tristram is a quest-like area that contains Uber Mephisto, Uber Baal and Pandemonium Diablo (some times referred to as Uber Diablo). When all three have been defeated, the Hellfire Torch unique large charm will drop. To reach Uber Tristram, you must first collect keys of Destruction, Hatred and Terror (from Countess, Summoner, and Nihlathak), then cube sets of such keys three times to get Portals to Lilith (Uber Andariel), Uber Duriel, and Uber Izual. Each of these "mini-ubers" drop an organ. Cubing the three organs gives you a Portal to Uber Tristram. This can only be done in Hell difficulty after defeating Baal.
"Twinked" means that you give a new character items that another of your characters has found, thus allowing the character to be more powerful from the start than if you played "untwinked" (only using items the character finds itself).
Btw, this forum does have a stickied lingo thread. Look in the thread called "***Newcomer Forum Stickied Threads***". In it there are two threads for D2 Abbreviations, Terms and Acronyms.
Exactly what Are said. There's actually many players coming back to Diablo 2 now that Diablo 3 was announced.
I could also add that the keys and organs can only be cubed in Hell Act 5.
