Long story short, I went for a Spirit Monarch with max block and fell short on dexterity.. way short. My stats are as follows:
156 str
150 dex
179 vit
base energy
I don't currently have any +str or +dex from gear, but +6 str and +5 dex from charms. Using all rares, Spirit Broad Sword, Smoke Wyrmhide and Spirit Monarch currently. I went for a standard pure blizz build (ie no ES), so I'm currently running around with 652 hp and only 37% block. My objective is to mf Hell meph/tunnels but I don't think that's even close to viable with my current setup. Is the char salvagable at all with some different items etc or should I just start over?
edit: forgot to mention it's level 76 on useast hardcore ladder with 4 skill points spare but no stat points.

I think the only way you can compensate for your lower vitality is by getting some small charms with +life on them. You will in no way be able to ramp up the dex needed to get max block. So from now on just stick all the points you will get into vitality and get hold of some life charms, possible also socket armor with a perfect ruby.

I donīt your build is wasted, but its ofcourse far form optimal and might need to play a bit cautious. Otherwise your killing speed is strong and fast with pure Blizzard. Manage your merc well and i think there stands nothing against keeping that build, though it is a bit hampered.

Or you could now use Stormshield and have full benefits of the strength and dexterity invested.

Thanks for the replies guys.
I may just stick to Nightmare for the time being until I can gear myself up a bit better. Stormshield is a very nice option but it is so expensive on Hardcore. I've been told it goes for about 400-450 fg so it may be a while off yet.
