So as with a lot of other people, after the announcement of D3 I got excited and came back to D2. As this is my first real neccy, I had a question about the usefulness of Bone Wall in regards to being a supporting defensive skill. To be more specific, Im making a full poison build with nova, poison explosion and dagger maxed, the main intent of this character is to be running with a friend so I'm not as concerned with immunes unless Im playing solo.

Getting to the point, what level would bone wall be good enough to have it at? I'm pretty sure I don't wanna max it out, so I am a little confused on to how many points I should put into it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

None

Not really worth a point investment, only a bonus for bonemancers

My Trang-Oul Poisonmancer had 4 hard points invested in BW. With +skills, BW was sufficient (when spammed) to hold back waves 4 & 5 of Baal's minions long enough for him to kill the waves in relative safety. In addition, it gave him a little extra defence with BA, which was useful. I don't regret the points I spent at all.

Mind you, I was playing an odd build that didn't permit Corpse Explosion to be used - bear that in mind.

My build could use poison explosion if I really wanted (I am not bothering putting more then one point into corpse explosion), however I'm seeing that nova would be my more main used skill. 4 points seems adequate enough to me, since I really wouldn't not like to put at least a single point into the skill. I'm sure the small supporting defense will save my hide in certain situations. Thanks for the helpful insight, it's much appreciated.
