View Full Version : Fade or Burst of Speed - Untwinked
Simple question:
Which is better to use as, say, a trapper? Of course, using one aura means you balance out the difference with equips. Therefore, which path is easier for an untwinked assassin?
Using BoS and getting resist gear
or
Using Fade and getting +speed/+attackspeed gear
I also think Fade looks kind of lame.
As a trapper you don't really have the skill points to invest heavily in either. My suggestion is 1pt in each, using bos most of the time and fading as required.
Fade looks awesome imho.
Yeah I gave it a second look (hero edited a 20-all skill assassin just to try stuff out) and fade looks pretty nifty.
And yeah, I figure I'll put 1 point in all shadow talents, except for the poison one, and then simply synergize lightning sentry and get fire blast to 20 (shock web to 1-whatever).
Not sure if I should level shock web or fire blast first. Synergies for lightning sentry are nice...

Untwinked, its easier to just lay your traps a bit slower and go with the safety of Fade (Res + DR%). You don't even really need any IAS gear when it boils down to it, its just better for laying traps.
Getting 20 IAS gloves and like a semi fast claw is easier imo then hoping for heavy res pieces of armor. You are looking at surviving vs laying traps a bit faster.
My Kick/Trapper is still in semi good gear, and I basically just switch at my leisure, Fade around elemental attackers (Souls, Vampires, etc) and BoS when I am moving around or more around melee monsters.
So get both, but use whichever whenever.
EDIT - Level Fireblast first. It helps DS which is just awesome, and you will want a good back-up LI killer when you enter Hell. If you wait on it, you will have a hard time with LI's come their showing up.
Personally, I like Kick/LS rather then FB/LS. Kicking definitely helps take down the bosses faster if you get some CB, and provides a way to leech back health and mana quite well. It also gives a faster gameplay to me since I am not just trapping everything and sitting back.
Thanks for the replies guys. Anyone have input on post#3? I guess that's my only skill related quarrel now. Not a big one either.
Fireblast first, or you'll struggle with immunes.
