I was planning to make my furysin with a big, big 2H weapon because... I thought it would give me more damage. I'm aware of the 3/4 reduction built into the skill - but then I read here:

Keep in mind that Blade Fury suffers a ¾ penalty. So the smart person would say .. then get a HUGE damage weapon.. like like like a Colossus Blade and do Cresent Moon on it.. Sounds good but no. ALL… ALL 2 handed weapons suffers an additional penalty. Making it 3/8 the damage .. and thus making it a bad weapon of choice. Keep that in mind when looking for weapons.

Is this true? would I be only getting 3/8ths of the damage? This would change my entire strategy drastically. Obviously that would be a worthless way to go.

Yes, that's true. Note that damage penalty is for all types of damage, so two handed elemental damage weapons (say IK maul with some set pieces) get hit extra hard compared to for example a Gimmershred.

Wow.... that is so totally ridiculous. Why on earth would any character use a two handed weapon then? (Or is this just for Blade Fury?) Two handed weapons are rarely even twice the damage to begin with.

This counts for all blade skills. And yeah, not many people would use a 2 hander with BF, not for reasons of effectiveness anyhow.
