i am unable to connect to my friends hosted game through the tcp/ip connect feature and i do not know why. i am trying to lan some diablo 2 with my friends and its not working. anyone know possible solutions?

Pop over to the SPF and check the MP Guide. It will explain that you need ports 4000 and 6112 open and forwarded to your host machine. There's a brief guide on how to do that in the Guide. Turn off Windows Firewall it's a pain in the rear.

could also be on a different group network? example, Computer 1 might be under "Workgroup",while Computer 2 on "dinning room",
