Oh boy I :heartbeat: that Horadric Cube .

Use it for crafting, upping, rerolling, upgrading, repairing, socketing, extra storage space, access to new levels (cows and ubers) and so on....

How sad will I be, if the Cube isn't a part of DIII .

I don't think it will be part since i think the story of D3 will be different than that from D2. But perhaps blizz will make a new thingie in which you can craft? :D

I trust they'll be able to manoeuvre something into the plot to make it re-appear.

Cain: "There once was a glorious adventurer, who had quite a treasure in that horadric cube..."

Um yeah. I'm pretty freaking sure that Cain would have salvaged the cube once the adventurer retired/died/whatever - it's part of Cain's heritage.

That said I believe Blizzard said they know we like that sort of stuff and they'd make sure something similar gets put in if not the original cube.

Sorry for the OT, but I love your Bernard Black av! :wine: :wine:

and yes, I'm sure there will be some magical, dimension-twisting super gear re-jigging box of tricks in DIII - or maybe an entirely new way of crafting, like nominated NPCs who can craft items for you (think Baldur's Gate, or an imbue quest that you could use every time you have the right ingredients to use it)

But isn't the barbarian the same one from dii?

The functionality of the horadric cube is great - added storage, transmutation recipes - but I'd rather see a few extra squares on the inventory itself and just use an npc for transmutation purposes.

The horadric cube as the new walking megastash? 100 by 100 with separate tabs for weapons and armor etc

I think the Horadric Cube was really annoying in Diablo II. I only want my original inventory to be larger but still allow transformations like the cube offered..

I like the NPC idea. And maybe " Item transformation" Could be a skill to some of the magical characters? Every level would be a better chance of it working, other wise your
items would go down to 0 durability momentarily or something?

Haha cheers! It's depressing that you're the first person to notice! Some pretentious git on here was even trying to pay me out by calling me a "Silly pizza boy". *cough* If only I were as awesome as Bernard.

Hmm, actually, I wouldn't mind that. It'd be a fresh change.

I also like the NPC idea. The new inventory looks like each item takes one slot anyway so maybe the inventory will be larger to begin with. Plus the bags may allow for more storage space.

I don't remember Cain referencing the Horadric Cube as -the- Horadric Cube. Which suggests to me that there is more than one.

could be a starting quest.

"We need an excuse for you to kill monsters. Ah, yes. The Horadric Cube. Go kill everything and take it back".
"Yes."
Kills all, gets cube, transmutes self into female char. lol

I'd love to see it come back somehow, storywise. But I do not dislike the NPC idea at all.

I for one, certainly like the Ole crafting aspect of the game and if the HC does not reappear, I'd like crafting to come back under one form or another. That's bit beside the point but as far as storage goes, I'd like to see a common stash for all my characters something À la GW. Having an army of mules is somewhat ridiculous.

You've just hit on one of the good reasons to play GW....or Titan Quest for that matter. That would be nice instead of having to mule stuff and risk losing it.

I agree with that, i would like to share some of the stuff between my characters, its an annoyance when u get a very good item that you could use for a character of urs but doesnt help at all the character that found it.

Shared storage would be the most awesome of awesome things xD Note that even in GW you have to make mule chars at one point (I have 10 characters and I play on 8 of them, two are dedicated to holding stuff, and I still need more space), but having a shared storage would make it much easier to switch items between characters.

As far as crafting goes, I'd like a crafter NPC that has more and more options based on the character level/supplies you bring him. Maybe a series of increasingly harder quests to give him the ability to make better/more powerful items? Said quests would have level reqs, of course. Or, since we progress on a map, there are better crafters on the way.

Like, village XX has the local craftsman. He isn't much, since he's self-taught, but for the needs of the small village, it's enough. As you get to a large town, the craftperson is much better. He's got assistants, equipment and resources to make pretty much anything.

I'd like to be able to build stuff from scratch. Like, bring him gems and cash, and a list of available things to make from them appears. Then, based on chance/some character modifier, he makes the item.

As an example... you go to him with the slightly dented but in good condition shield you salvaged from the ruddy skeleton, and some gems you found. He looks at the gems and the shield, and tells you he can use the emeralds to add a bit of magical property to the shield, and for some extra cash, add some spikes to it too, since spiky shields look good.
