O Hai!

I've got myself a lvl 74 amazon at the moment, first ladder character, so no skullsmashing loot.

The Amazon is bow, but with maxed lightning fury, strafe and now maxing magical arrow, have some points in the evasion skills (Dogde, Avoid, Evade)

Some in critical strike, penetration etc.

My dmg is just below 600 with strafe.

I then looked at the damage output lightning strike could do, and all the benefits it gets from synergies, which seems to be alot more than lightning fury.

Lastly, Amazons seem rather expensive to build, any build/character that is not THAT gear dependent, just to start up on.

please take a couple hours and read over the build stickies before you make your next amazon...your zon will be fun but you will struggle with her...she isn't going to have the damage output that she could have if her points were allocated better.

you can make a cs/lf zon using normal javs that will do more damage than your current build.

I am confused with these new patches about amazon builds, have read and read, but not really come up with anything.

Btw. I am following the hybrid amazon guide atm.

any build/character that is not THAT gear dependent
This is the only thing I could comprehend as a question :cloud9:

For builds that aren't really gear dependent I'd mention:

fishymancer
lightning trapsin
hammerdin
javazon (yes, javazons aren't that gear dependent, hybrids must be played largely as javazons until you get a decent bow, such as wws or harmony)
Sorcs

In large most casters/characters who get their damage from skills can work without great gear.

Have thought about it. I remember my amazon in the old days that would walk over anything, now, not so much :P

Suggestions to cheap readily available equipment? Use stealth runeword lvl 17 as armor etc.

Made a new ama with skillpoints correctly set.

There should be a couple or newcomers guide or such that has a of tricks and hints for easy starting.

For cheap gear, check out the gear selection section for the stickied WWS guide. While the gear isn't as cheap as stealth, it offers a good mix of low/ mid range items that are both affordable and can last you through hell.
