Corpse Explosion

I'm currently playing a fishy with a lot of skill points to spare but of course not to waste. I was wondering if 20 points i this skill was necessary I know it would be awesome to kill stuff off the screen but are there diminishing affects where the radius increase is just not worthwhile?

I'm also playing to start a poisonmancer soon and was wondering what the vets would suggest the corpse explosion level be for that?

If you're playing a Fishy, max it. It's the coolest spell ever, and your best killing spell. You want it to have as big a radius as it can.

I have no idea what level poisonmancers would say. I would think they would use Poison Nova instead, so would keep CE at 1, but I've never played one.

I read a guide (forget which one) about casting LR and nova-ing then casting amp for the skele to damage (tho I'm not sure if I'll even use skeles) and CE while the poison works it magic. Just seems like a waste to waste all those corpses =P

Its not necessary, but Corpse Explosion is very powerful. I'd go for it, personally.

Depends. If you want mages, and an aura golem, you won't have enough points to max all. If you want mages, you must max them. If you want an aura golem, extra levels of golem mastery can be necessary. I don't think there will be a need to max golem mastery though, as you'll have quite many +skills in the summoning tree, and in that case you can max ce. But you will maybe need those extra mastery levels if you're planning to make an aura golem
