Hi All,

I emailed Blizzard already about this but I am impatient and someone might have an answer already to my problem here.

I noticed that in all my google searching these forums were the only place that had helpful info about solving my issue.

I noticed that in this thread:
http://forums.diabloii.net/showthread.php?t=560408

The poster mentions that he got his sound to work by changing the settings in his audio midi utility.

Well I did that and it still doesn't work.

I am running an Intel Core Duo Mac Mini, Mac OS 10.5.4 (as of June 30th 2008) and I just installed the Diablo II: LoD Expansion Pack.

The game runs fine but there is no audio and when I try to turn up the system volume it reverts the slider back to zero and mutes it. I even went into the game and tried to change the audio from inside the game. But to no avail. I made sure the audio settings matched what was posted in these forums but that didn't seem to work either.

Was anyone running Diablo 2 LoD in 10.5.3 with sound? I hope this newest update didn't break the sound!

Help? Anyone??!

Ok, quick question, how did you get your game to launch? I've done all the patches and the full install, but it crashes immediately. looks like I have the exact same Mac as you. so I would really love to be able to play this again.

I did hear something about having to install the patch manually. Not sure how to do that as this is my first mac :(

Yeah I forgot to mention I have patch 1.12a installed as well.

You have to install the patch manually before you are able to boot up the game.

So go to this webpage:
http://us.blizzard.com/support/article.xml?articleId=20758

Download the patch for Mac for the expansion pack and then run the app once you have it downloaded. Your screen should go black and then it should say "patching". It probably takes like 5 minutes to do all this.

I received a reply from Blizzard about my sound issues. They told me that the newest OS upgrade for the mac 10.5.4 updates sound drivers and it no longer supports sound for the game.

If you want sound in Diablo II, DON'T UPGRADE TO 10.5.4

Hello Alex,

The update replaced certain sound drivers that no longer support the game. What I would recommend is to do an Archive & Install of Mac OS 10.5

How to run mac os and windows on same pc? I have a toshiba satellite a205 (said to be most compatible with mac os) but currently have vista. I was wondering how it is possible to have both operating systems without running them in parallel. I know i can boot master and slave drives in the boot menu, but don't know if that would work to do this. THANKS!
