Home Owner's Association

The people that tell you what you can and can't do to the aesthetics of your house.

kimiko
01-12-2011, 19:42
Oh, okay.

I...I am not actually sure if we have that here or not. Hmm...:scratchchin:

I do know people who had to deal with them, but they were in gated communities :p.

Leopold Stotch
01-12-2011, 19:44
as far back as i can remember, I've NEVER had to deal with HOA. so we did whatever to our house and it was fine. It wasn't until i moved in with Mara that I had to worry about it and I'm like, "Ya know, I don't care about the conformity of the neighborhood and if I don't want to trim my hedges because I don't have time and I feel like letting them grow, I should! Besides, directions to the house would be easier! 'See the house with the overgrown and half dead shrubs? Yeah, that's us!'"

See? So much easier!

kimiko
01-12-2011, 19:48
Heh, yeah.

It's probably more so people cannot paint their houses stripped black/purple/yellow/green/blue or something, though, I heard some can be really strict.

kestegs
01-12-2011, 19:49
No one should tell you to trim your hedge if you don't want to, that crosses the line!

Leopold Stotch
01-12-2011, 20:11
it's ridiculous. we've gotten notices about our hedges and they sent two back in August because my roommate had an AC unit in his bedroom which is upstairs and facing the street. They told us we had to take it out. i think we've gotten notices about our lawn looking like crap. XD

kestegs
01-12-2011, 20:15
Nevermind XD

That is annoying though. Don't you just rent the house though?

kimiko
01-12-2011, 20:33
Might be your neighbors =X.

The only people who I know that really have perfect hedges are either retired or they hire people to do it for them :p.

kestegs
01-12-2011, 20:38
We live in a neighborhood with mostly retired people. They make us look really bad with their gorgeous lawns.

Leopold Stotch
01-12-2011, 21:05
i think us and another family are the only gringos on the block. lol! and the guy across the street calls my male roommate "familia". They drink beer together sometimes and have no idea what the other one is saying. i don't really know my neighbors. the kids that run back and forth across the street are hilarious and have really bad mouths!!

one day, the boys were playing football and calling each other *****es and a bundle of sticks and dropping the f-bomb. LP and i laughed because we thought it was hilarious, but bad and then we reminisced about what would've happened if we said any of those words.

kestegs
01-12-2011, 21:12
That's pretty funny, I guess bear transcends all languages :p

Yes, I would have never said anything like that as a kid, there would have been much hell to pay on my end.

Leopold Stotch
01-12-2011, 21:15
same here! i would've been slapped and had soap down my throat!

kestegs
01-12-2011, 21:16
Oooo! I think I got soap once! I know my sister did for sure, though. She was the bad one, I was much nicer.

kimiko
01-12-2011, 21:21
Like "A Christmas Story"?!? :scared:

Leopold Stotch
01-12-2011, 21:22
i remember getting soap in my mouth when i was three or four. gawd, it was a horrible experience. nothing like A Christmas Story. all he had to do was suck on that thing, lol!

i got spanked and slapped. that was our punishment. The Belt... *shudders*

kimiko
01-12-2011, 21:28
I drank a bit of soapy water once, pure stupidity there =_='.

As for trouble, well, that was my bro, I tried to avoid it at all costs *innocent*. <---would be a good spot for that innocent smiley

kestegs
01-12-2011, 21:31
Eating soap is awful, we don't do that to our kids, at least not yet.

Leopold Stotch
01-12-2011, 21:36
i agree, kimiko! We need to have an angel face smiley or something.

I tried to be good, but there were times when i had such a bad attitude! Kegs, you don't seem the type to say bad things in front of kids so im sure they have no idea what foul language is. ^_^

haha, remember when you would get shampoo in your eye as a kid and how bad it would sting? lol, now it's just itchy and irritating.

kimiko
01-12-2011, 21:42
There used to be one, along with my fav :hide:, others too.

I learned such language from classmates or my bro and his friends =X. Even while trying not to use it, it comes out subconciously from time to time :whistling:.

Shampoo is still no fun, though, there was a time when my bro and I were helping with the mashed potatoes and ended up with salt/pepper on our hands, rubbed our eyes and OH...MY...GOD...that hurt like no other, so so bad >_<.

Wow, how bad are my eyes, instead of "shampoo", I had written "soup" thinking it was "soap". :D

Leopold Stotch
01-12-2011, 22:16
the worse is jalapeno juice. even after you wash your hands, the stinging agent is still there! >< :O DX

kestegs
01-12-2011, 22:18
Bleh! I hate getting stuff in my eyes!

No, we don't use bad language in front of them. My wife's family also knows better than to use it too. Mine never used it anyways.

Leopold Stotch
02-12-2011, 02:12
omg, i love Symphony bars. hands down, my favorite candy!

or do i love Zero bars? hmm....

*takes a piece of Symphony*

nope, definitely like Symphony better! i love Zero bars, but Symphony is literally orgasmic. :cloud9:

kestegs
02-12-2011, 02:37
Don't think I've had symphony before, but zero is pure awesome!!!#

Leopold Stotch
02-12-2011, 02:48
i knoooooow!!! and you're, like, one of the few people who know what they are!!

try Symphony. it's silky sweet milk chocolate and you can have it plain or with almond and toffee chips, gives it a nice crunch uncomparable to other nutty candy. Don't get me wrong, Snickers isn't bad, but it's not the nutty candy i go for. Symphony is and it's pure heaven!

and i ate a whole king-size bar to myself. Mostly. *peeks over netbook* well, i have two bars left so I'm okay! i do feel a little too full, lol!

Gorny
02-12-2011, 03:19
That's empty wrappers Leo... i snacked while you were not looking.

kestegs
02-12-2011, 03:24
Isn't symphony made by Hershey's? Like just a fancy version?

Leopold Stotch
02-12-2011, 03:31
That's empty wrappers Leo... i snacked while you were not looking.

wha.... what??? :weep: but it made me feel so good!

Isn't symphony made by Hershey's? Like just a fancy version?

si si!

kestegs
02-12-2011, 03:43
Cool, I'm not a huge chocolate fan actually. I prefer stuff like skittles or starburst.

Leopold Stotch
02-12-2011, 03:48
Fruit candy is okay, i have to be in the mood for it. :)

kestegs
02-12-2011, 03:57
I'm always in the mood for it!

Leopold Stotch
02-12-2011, 04:02
I'm always in the mood for it!

Laughing. My. ***. Off.

Oh gawd, someone PLEASE sig that!

kestegs
02-12-2011, 04:03

Jcakes
02-12-2011, 19:46

kestegs
02-12-2011, 19:56
Meh...

Been watching scrubs on Netflix, going from season 1 episode 1, in about 15 episodes now. Only 165ish more to go :)

Jcakes
02-12-2011, 20:06
Was it becase I wasn't around to give your daily dose of scrubs clips?

kestegs
02-12-2011, 20:15
I think so :(

The wife ans I both like it a lot, so it works out well. First season is awesome so far, absolutely hilarious.

Jcakes
02-12-2011, 20:17
I remember the very first time I saw scrubs, I was fairly tired, drinking a little and watching it with some mates. I remember finding it absolutely hilarious especially with Rowdy the dog. It was never quite as good as that first time, but still awesome.

kestegs
02-12-2011, 20:33
Rowdy is pretty awesome :D

He's in the early episodes quite a bit.

Leopold Stotch
04-12-2011, 03:20

kestegs

Thanks corax :)

It's fun to mess with people when you know they aren't around to defend themselves. I also messed with PCM's tar :badteeth:

i know. but sadly it is time for me to grow up and that means there are alot of things that have to take priority over the forums.

it sucks *throws tantrum*

kestegs
13-12-2011, 00:17
Mantrum!!!

Growing up is the suck :(

corax
13-12-2011, 00:26
i love mantrums. especially in my RPG's or table top wargames.

i have run the sunday shadowrun game the last few weeks. on sunday i freaked one of our players out so bad she had to leave the table for a minute. DM win

kestegs
13-12-2011, 03:19

aw, I'm sorry, Raxy. Hope everything is okay. We just miss you. Don't be a stranger, sweet Zombie Santa face! :cloud9:

kestegs
13-12-2011, 03:56
I'm still not a fan of zombie Santa. Too bloody.

corax
13-12-2011, 06:59
no thats a good dm. my players were so immersed they were freaking out.

we did have callie dressed up in a white jumpsuit with bunny ears covered in blood. then we deblooded it as it was to wrong.

kestegs
13-12-2011, 11:29
Yea, good job, DM :)

That does sound like a bit much :p

corax
16-12-2011, 06:22
and you know if i decide its a bit much it is way too much

kestegs
16-12-2011, 11:16
Yes, I believe you. Up until this point I was unaware that you even had a kine where something was too much.

Leopold Stotch
25-12-2011, 16:55
Merry Christmas, WD OT!!! :D

kestegs
25-12-2011, 20:48
Witches celebrate Christmas too?

Leopold Stotch
26-12-2011, 01:44
:dontknow: maybe! :D

kestegs
26-12-2011, 02:25
Well atheists and the like seem to not usually have an issue with it, so I bet they don't really either.

kimiko
31-12-2011, 04:56
Did the witches clear out or are they just waiting until the New Year? :scratchchin:

kestegs
31-12-2011, 11:28
I think they all went into hiding, they're planning a surprise attack on new year's day I believe.

Jcakes
01-01-2012, 23:52
Surprise .... I am not a witch, but I am a better surprise.

TBH not many Witches in this thread, mostly kesty

kestegs
02-01-2012, 00:59
Bach was a witch....figured you'd know that.

Leopold Stotch
04-01-2012, 04:44
I think they all went into hiding, they're planning a surprise attack on new year's day I believe.

no, we're waiting for the next winter solstice. ;)

to any actual witches/Pagans out there, i was totally kidding and not being mean. promise. :)

kestegs
04-01-2012, 11:27
uh-huh. Now witches everywhere are going to be writing me PMs about how you offended them and they want you banned.

Leopold Stotch
04-01-2012, 16:19
I wouldn't doubt it, not with what i said. :azn:

The winter solstice happens to fall on Dec. 21st of this year.

:coffee:

kestegs
04-01-2012, 16:41
I miss :azn:

That a big witch holiday?

Leopold Stotch
04-01-2012, 16:48
It's an important one, so I'll say sure. Longest night of winter, first day of winter, ya know? Cold months ahead. Maybe not as big as Samhain, but hey. I'm still learning the ropes! ;) :D

my dog is snoring. awwww! :cloud9:

kestegs
04-01-2012, 17:34
Very well then, I like the fact that the days are going to start getting longer again!

My dogs never really snore. But they do sleep a lot.

Leopold Stotch
04-01-2012, 17:36
how old are they?

i like winter. :( It's so hot here 90% of the time and last year had a lot of sun! I am more of a cloudy and rain type of person, always have been.

kestegs
04-01-2012, 17:43
They're 2 & 3

it's really warm this week which has been awesome, but it's usually too cold to enjoy winter.

Leopold Stotch
04-01-2012, 17:51
not here! i can still wear flip-flops some days and i'll miss that part if i ever move out of state. :hanky:

aww, Casey is about two years old. she's so big and your dogs are so tiny! That would be hilarious to see them interacting together! XD what are their names again? :)

kestegs
04-01-2012, 18:01
Yea, it's over 60° today, which is insane, but I'm loving it.

Fry and Squeak :)

Leopold Stotch
04-01-2012, 20:10
*SQQQQUUUUUUUEEEEEE*

so cute!!! does Squeak actually squeak? ^_^ Squeakers gonna squeak? :rolf:

kestegs
04-01-2012, 20:25
Actually yes! That's why we named him that. He squeaks and talks when he gets excited about stuff, it's really cute.

Leopold Stotch
04-01-2012, 20:37
:rolf: adorable!!

kestegs
04-01-2012, 21:08
We always tell him that he's lucky he's cute, cause otherwise we'd have to kill him (because he acts like a turd sometimes )

joking of course

Jcakes
04-01-2012, 21:18
We always tell him that he's lucky he's cute, cause otherwise we'd have to kill him (because he acts like a turd sometimes )

I bet you say the same thing to your kids :D

kestegs
04-01-2012, 21:26
I do actually, or at least to my daughter.

Jcakes
04-01-2012, 22:14

Trick question--in North America, they're all names for the same species, Puma concolor! Isn't learning fun? Anyway, sleep tight!"

kestegs
04-01-2012, 22:24

Jcakes
04-01-2012, 22:39

Gambler's fallacy.

Jcakes
05-01-2012, 00:02

kestegs
05-01-2012, 00:25
Who said it did?

Jcakes
05-01-2012, 01:57
Well you said that finding comics is lucky and I said it requires skill.

kestegs
05-01-2012, 02:21
I never said it had to do with gambling though.

Jcakes
05-01-2012, 03:14
You said it was a gamblers fallacy.

Nice one Leo :D

Leopold Stotch
05-01-2012, 03:35
thanks. :D i think there's another one or two that deal with *** Chicken and it's Leonidas and Kratos, but i haven't read them yet.

kestegs
05-01-2012, 03:52
I'm not really familiar with those cartoons.

Leopold Stotch
05-01-2012, 04:12
Kratos = God of War

Leonidas = 300 movie. I think he was an actual person... maybe...

both are Spartans. :D

kestegs
05-01-2012, 04:15
I see. Makes sense then. I'm a bit out of the loop on new games/movies.

kimiko
05-01-2012, 04:32
Are the other two from games too or are they just regulars for that comic?

Leopold Stotch
05-01-2012, 04:37
both are from the media; one game and the other from a movie. :)

kestegs
05-01-2012, 11:36
I never saw 300, heard it was good but I never saw it, I don't see enough movies.

Leopold Stotch
05-01-2012, 17:58
300 isn't too bad. while i've heard it referred to as a "CGI-candy" movie, it's a good action flick. :)

kestegs
05-01-2012, 23:18
CGI candy meaning a good thing or a bad thing?

I don't watch a lot of action movies anymore, mostly comedy these days.

Leopold Stotch
06-01-2012, 00:23
:highfive: for comedy!

um... i've heard it used both ways, i guess more negative. but what do you expect? it's a manly-man movie. ofc there's going to blood, ***-kicking, and CGI. :p

kestegs
06-01-2012, 00:29
Nothing wrong with a good manly movie, just that the wife isn't a fan and I rarely watch them alone.

Leopold Stotch
06-01-2012, 00:32
so have a bro date and watch it with them? :dontknow:

kestegs
06-01-2012, 00:38
if I had any friends....

Leopold Stotch
06-01-2012, 01:06
aww, Kegs. :(

um... Can i be your friend? And Cakes and Corax? I may not be able to watch movies with you, but I can talk to you and message you and stuff. :)

kestegs
06-01-2012, 01:35
Yea, you can be my friend. I do have friends, just not any close guy friends. I do have a guy get together this Saturday though.

Leopold Stotch
06-01-2012, 04:04
good!! :D

and if it helps, i don't feel like i have many close friend-girls. like, i can go to a few for certain things, but here lately... the only one i feel I can trust is Bestest Friend and she lives a little ways away. :( i miss her so much! I wish i saw her more often. i feel with recent events that i cannot fully trust my female roomie like i used to, but im sure a big part of it is paranoia. idk... i feel weird around her now and i hope she doesn't feel that. >.>

kestegs
06-01-2012, 04:19
My naturally anti social behavior makes it a bit hard to maintain friendships. Doesn't really bother me though.

Sorry about your friend, that kinda stinks.

Jcakes
06-01-2012, 05:50
Given your post count on these forums I am surprised and unsurprised that you have unsocial tendencies.

kestegs

Leopold Stotch
09-01-2012, 03:09
LOL! no!! it's the original Riddler from the Adam West Batman series! his name is Frank something...

*Google*

Frank Gorshin. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_Gorshin)

kestegs
09-01-2012, 04:05
But he was the riddler!

I played a really bad old PlayStation Batman game last night. I don't know if they actually made any good ones though until the Lego one.

Adam West!!!!!!! Awesome!!!!!

Batman for NES was pretty good for its time.

Try playing it now, it's not ridiculously hard, but it's a fun challenge like the castlevania series.

kestegs

I might have to load it up and give it a shot I guess.

Jcakes
09-01-2012, 22:14

I thought it was Anthony Hopkins as well. That said when I was younger I used to get confused between him and Jack Nicolson

They do look a lot alike...

RED......RUM!!!

Jcakes
09-01-2012, 22:36
Not really, I think it was partly because I think they are both good actors

kestegs
09-01-2012, 22:49
That could be. I am terrible at actor names actually. If they aren't really famous I will likely mess up their name.

Jcakes
09-01-2012, 22:56
That could be. I am terrible at actor names actually. If they aren't really famous I will likely mess up their name.

Same I am beyond awful when it comes to actors, mainly cos I don't really care about their personal lives ...

kestegs

My wife is usually pretty good with it, so I just rely on her.

You should ask her then.

Jcakes
10-01-2012, 22:08
I think she would say that she only likes watching hong kong tv anyway, so it is useful for her to know the actors

kestegs
10-01-2012, 22:17
I suppose. I wouldn't want to watch Aussie TV either.

Jcakes
10-01-2012, 22:41
I think it is more the American crap that she doesn't want to watch :D

kestegs
10-01-2012, 22:48
See, now you're just making crap up. That's what everyone wants to watch!

Jcakes
17-01-2012, 01:49
I must admit that I do watch some American TV. I just tend to avoid comedy like 2.5 men, modern family etc.

kestegs
17-01-2012, 04:02
2.5 men gives America a bad reputation, modern family probably does too but I've never watched it.

Jcakes
17-01-2012, 04:04
There are a few other American comedies that aren't funny *Cough* Family Guy *Cough*, but for the most part they are ok. Don't tell Gorny but NCIS is one of my favourite TV programs.

kestegs
17-01-2012, 04:13
How can you like ncis and not FG? I'm not sure we can be friends anymore.

Jcakes
17-01-2012, 04:55
You already knew that I didn't like FG

Leopold Stotch

don't blame her for that! XD

how can we? he's "not" around anymore. :/

and yeah... he got me slightly addicted too. Like, i'll sit thru a five hour marathon on USA or something. *shakes fist*

we just got done with season 4 of Breaking Bad. I almost threw up and screamed with excitement at the same time in the last episode.

Jcakes
17-01-2012, 06:12
Never watched breaking bad. To be honest I don't watch a lot of TV, generally prefer to game. One thing I am waiting for is the next season of game of thrones

kestegs
17-01-2012, 11:35
I did already know that, I just sometimes try to convince myself that it's not really true :(

I'm not a big TV'er either, but my wife ropes me into watching a lot of it.

Jcakes
17-01-2012, 22:19
My wife would try that, but I can't understand most of what she watches (it is in a foreign language)

kestegs
17-01-2012, 22:30
It doesn't really matter. She considers that to be spending time together.

Jcakes
17-01-2012, 22:57
Actually she doesn't like it when I am bored watching her TV as I start distracting her :)

kestegs
17-01-2012, 23:00
Haha! Oh to be newly wed again

Jcakes
17-01-2012, 23:13
I am not distracting her in a good way, she finds it annoying what I am doing :)

kestegs
17-01-2012, 23:28
Well I never said she liked it, that would be silly.

Jcakes
17-01-2012, 23:38
I was trying to find the clip, but too hard at work anyway it reminds me of

Dr. Cox: Oh, look Carla back when I was an intern I remember the pressure being so insane that the only way I could get by was to race home and even though my wife was already asleep I'd gently wake her look her in the eyes and then I'd passive-aggressively torture her until she packed a bag and went to her mom's place for a week.
Carla: Oh.
Dr. Cox: Does that help?
Carla: Like a big hug with words

kestegs
18-01-2012, 00:37
it's not quite the same coming out in your voice, but thanks for trying.

Jcakes
18-01-2012, 00:53
It is interesting, I've always wondered what your voice sounds like. Maybe I should call you to find out :D

kestegs
18-01-2012, 01:59
Yes, I too wonder what people sound like. Call away, just do it from work xD

Jcakes
18-01-2012, 02:09
I'll need to find your telephone number first :D

shouldn't be too hard

kestegs
18-01-2012, 02:21
No, it really is rather easy I found it in about ten seconds the other day. Having a business makes it a lot harder to actually keep that a secret, given the fact that I actually want people to be able to find it.

Jcakes
18-01-2012, 02:26
I think I have found it before. I can't really call atm, might have to do it later.

kestegs
18-01-2012, 02:30
I will warn you that I rarely answer out of state or area numbers, do leave me a funny message!

Jcakes
18-01-2012, 02:45
I'll let you know on here before I call you.

The number with have a +61 (or equivalent) in front of it

kestegs
18-01-2012, 02:48
I have no idea how to even call out of the country or what our code is.

Bowzer
18-01-2012, 02:50
It's a wacky combination of like 40 numbers.

kestegs
18-01-2012, 02:58
I don't think it's that many numbers.

Jcakes
18-01-2012, 03:12
It is pretty easy for Kegs it would be +1 970 373-419****

For me to dial it is 0011(our exit code) (your international code)1 970 373 419 ****

kestegs
18-01-2012, 03:33
I think that's my FAX actually. And you blanked out only one number. Now I'm going to get prank faxes.

Jcakes
18-01-2012, 03:35
really? I thought I blanked out 4 numbers. Feel free to edit it.

I think I might sit on a fax machine and fax you :D

kestegs
18-01-2012, 03:45
It's fine, if someone wants to FAX me on a 1/10 chance they can go for it.

Jcakes
18-01-2012, 03:47
Well I have the full number :D

Super annoying.

Jcakes

Never had that, but I don't have a cell phone

I do have a mobile phone though :)

I have never get advert calls on the mobile.

kestegs
18-01-2012, 04:24
I get all kinds of sales calls on it.

Jcakes
18-01-2012, 05:22
That sucks, i basically never get calls (mainly because I am never home when the calls happen)

kestegs

kestegs
18-01-2012, 14:21
But the retardation at least makes it all comical.

2 hours is way too long, work harder next time!

18-01-2012, 19:37
Now that I've been home for 2 hours, had time for more coffee and eggs it's back off to work for a fun filled day of retardation and broken dreams.

retardation is when people ask you, "Hey, can I put oil paint on my body and go run a marathon?" He was doing it for a good cause, but was afraid the face paint would run off his body from sweating a lot. Well, I'd rather that than him die from skin poisoning, so... take your pick. ;)

kestegs
18-01-2012, 20:50

Jcakes
18-01-2012, 22:03

kestegs
18-01-2012, 22:56
Pretty sure you can, but am too lazy to prove it.

Jcakes
18-01-2012, 23:32
I am 90% sure you can't die from skin asphyxiation. You don't breather through your skin.....

kestegs
18-01-2012, 23:35

Jcakes
19-01-2012, 00:10
I am almost always right, you should not doubt me oh doubtfulstegs

kestegs
19-01-2012, 00:37

Jcakes
19-01-2012, 00:39
But I am so much more awesome than you

kestegs
19-01-2012, 01:27

Jcakes
19-01-2012, 02:41

kestegs
19-01-2012, 04:04

I am 90% sure you can't die from skin asphyxiation. You don't breather through your skin.....

maybe not, but you CAN get poisoned because it's OIL. there's chemicals and minerals in that **** and you don't want to paint it on your body, leave it on for 6+ hours. You don't breathe through your skin, however the skin can absorb the bad stuff, therefore poisoning you.

example: if your kid wants to dress up as a that blue thing from Avatar, DO NOT, i repeat, DO NOT buy cobalt blue oil paint and paint it on the skin! cobalt is a mineral and it CAN harm you. You may not die, but if you're running a 26 mile marathon, have this on your body, your pores are going to open up from the sweat and trying to cool down while you run and the paint will be absorbed and get in your system and possibly wreck chaos. that is why there is face and body paint, but even then it's not good to leave on for more than 6-8 hours. something about the oxygen you do absorb thru the skin won't get enough oxygen... whatever. It may sound stupid, but I know what I am talking about.

kestegs
19-01-2012, 18:40
No, that makes sense. We were talking about slightly different things it would seem.

Jcakes
19-01-2012, 22:37
You are right, you skin can absorb chemicals, however you wont die from being painted gold (like in goldfinger)

kestegs
19-01-2012, 22:50
What about in Glodmember?

Jcakes
19-01-2012, 22:56
I don't remember it in goldmember

kestegs
19-01-2012, 23:04

it's been a long time since I've seen it actually.

While the skin can absorb certain materials they generally need to be suspended in an agent that will facilitate this. That's why DMSO is very dangerous. It doesn't see the skin as a barrier. Anything dissolved in it will end up in your bloodstream.

Painting every square inch of your body in inappropriate paint can lead to heat stroke. You generate an awful lot of heat and if you can't vent it your body will be starting to cook itself.

kestegs
20-01-2012, 11:36

Yes, that is another thing I have heard before but hasn't thought of. I can't stand to have paint or pen or anything on me at all, so I don't think it would ever be a temptation for me.

Jcakes
23-01-2012, 22:24
Australian Open is one of the 4 slams in tennis (Australian Open, French Open, US Open and Wimbledon)

kestegs
23-01-2012, 22:36
I did know that it was tennis, but I didn't know that it was that big of a venue.

Jcakes
24-01-2012, 00:05
Yep it is one of the big 4. We have other smaller matches as well, but the Open is the main one.

kestegs
24-01-2012, 01:54
I don't care much for tennis, just seems like a slow and lazy form of racquetball to me.

Jcakes
24-01-2012, 02:01
Raquetball is more like squash (the way I see it)

kestegs
24-01-2012, 02:07
It is likely a bit more similar, I've never played squash though, always considered it to be an old man sport. And no, I am not setting you up for a joke...

Jcakes
24-01-2012, 03:09
I will let that one slip. Squash is a lot of fun.

kestegs
24-01-2012, 03:16
I would try it out at least, but I don't know anyone who plays.

Jcakes
24-01-2012, 03:27
Fair enough, I think squash is more popular here than raquetball (I had never heard of it before you mentioned it)

kestegs
24-01-2012, 03:45
Yea, it's not real big here. There is only one court in town I think, and there are about 10 racquetball courts.

Jcakes
24-01-2012, 03:55
Tennis is bigger then squash as well. There are a huge number of tennis courts around here.

kestegs
