I was hyped for Diablo III before there was even any info or conformation. I enjoy the popular game series like The Elder Scrolls, Fallout, Starcraft, etc. as much as anyone. But Diablo has always been different. Since Diablo II was released way back in 2000 I have never stopped playing it. I have probably logged more hours in DII than any other game (and I have never played on BNet). I'm still playing it today, it has never lost its appeal.

I know it will be hard for any game, let alone a sequel to live up to such hype, but the gameplay footage and trailer BLEW ME AWAY! Fun > innovation any day, this is exactly what I wanted out of Diablo III.

I still have some concerns, the biggest being how what Blizzard has learned with WoW will affect Diablo III. I hope they build the multiplayer on the foundation Diablo II created, and don't try to incorporate too many new ideas from other games.

It is going to be a long hard wait until the game is released.

Games like Fallout, Torment, Deus Ex and such are my favourite games ever.

But Diablo captures something different. It's not exactly even a great game, but it's damn polished, it's damn fun, and its damn immersive. It's just as replayable as Deus Ex or Fallout.

What diablo always gave to me was simplicity and pure gore. If I want otherwise I am indeed free to play WoW or something like that.

I think the D3 footage is extrmely impressive. I've had a few concerns of my own, but of course, the game can't meet everyone's specific desires. I'm very glad that they kept the birds eye view (pretty much), and the simplicity, player-friendly factor. For instance, they emphasize that "if you can click a mouse, you can play...", and they stuck with the get-up-and-go style of just naming your character and starting (plus simple gender selection this time around). With all the fancy technologies out there, they still stick to the favored core values of the game.
