Alright, so..."Hydra," I know there are discussions on other sites, but let's have our own.
So, I guess I'll start with the mythological Hydra that Hercules slew. As most of us know, the Hydra was a many-headed beast who would grow back two heads in the place of a lost one. In order to stop this, Hercules, with Iolaus' help, burned the head stumps after he cut them off, and trapped the last head, which was immortal, under a large rock. The Hydra lived in a lake in Lerna, at the bottom of which was an entrance to Hades, cue Diablo.
Okay, so applied to Diablo, this could mean that an adventurer once again had to defeat a monster and enter the underworld. However, the many-headedness of the Hydra would suggest to me that there will be several mini-bosses (like Act-bosses), or Diablo will be allegedly killed at least once, but survive, and perhaps become more powerful.
Talk amongst yourselves.
