Okay so, the ladder reset is upon us! If you have not heard about it, please check http://www.battle.net/ for more info. They have announced the time and date in their news section.

For those of you who are lazy, here's a summary of what was said:

We will be performing a Diablo II ladder reset on June 17 beginning at approximately 9:00 a.m. PDT. The reset is anticipated to require approximately six hours of downtime to complete, and during that time all Diablo II Battle.net realms will be unavailable for play. When the reset occurs all existing ladder characters will be moved to non-ladder. This provides a fresh start and new competition for leveling supremacy on the ladder realm.

So I'm proposing, to anyone who's excited about the new ladder starting, is organizing a player group to do some power leveling the day of the reset, and get a good jump start to building your wealth back up. =D

So yeah! Anyone interested can go ahead and ahead and sign up, and I'm sure we can get something organized for you. Post what character you'd like to use, and make sure you're free to play on June 17th! I know there may be things that come up at the last minute, but it'd be nice to keep the no-shows to a minimum.

If this gets enough attention, perhaps we could look at organizing multiple USWest groups for the day of the reset. =) Or later

So, since the announcement says it's going to start at 9am PST, and run for about 6 hours, I'm going to assume they'll take a little longer than that...meaning the new ladder will be up around 4pm PST. Can everyone be around for 6pm? Or earlier? =)

I'd like to do some power-levelling. I was going to make my first character a nice standard meteorb though... is the group to full of those already? If not I'm down. I get off work at 2 so I'm free anytime past then. I haven't yet made a new account for the new ladder though so I'll post that when I have it.

Meteorb should work fine. =) I know everyone wants to get their mf sorcs up as quickly as possible, haha. But we have 1 light sorc, 2 cold, 1 fire, and you, fire/cold. So it should balance out pretty good. Especially through norm and nightmare. It'd be nice to get 1 or 2 tanks into the group though, a barb and pally would make it a lot easier.

I see other groups talking about using an in-game channel to organize ourselves, or keep up-to-date. I don't think it's a bad idea. I'll be hanging out in channels "USWest DII.net" or "rawr" over the next week if you wanna come join and chat.

I think if we manage to get 6-8 people in a private game we'll try and play through, rushing ourselves, then switch to runs. Private tristing/tombing/baaling would be the quickest way to level ourselves. With the amount of sorcs that will be in the game, teleporting through the boring/slow parts won't be difficult. Plus, I'd rather keep all our games private; we don't want to be leveling anyone else on the ladder just to get good exp, now do we? =P

If I am timing this right, it starts at 9am pacific, and goes for 6 hours, that makes it come back online approx. 3pm. If I'm correct, I can be in for a solid 5 hours that day, 3-8. I'm certain my first char will be a fishymancer.

Windy would provide more balance to our party, but go with the cold sorc if you really prefer. Any kind of immunity difficulties our party might run into will come from hell difficulty anyways, at this point. So it should be safe.

I'll add your name to group 1, but what bnet account will you be using for ladder? Just so I can keep track of everyone's info. =)

That also means that group one is officially filled. I'd like to hear back from litokrn to confirm that he can be there, but I'll start organizing group 2 now. Hopefully there's enough interest that we can fill up a second group. ^^

The only reason I have you guys in a 'others' section is because you have expressed the fact that you won't be able to be around for the time of the reset, but you will be available later at night. It's possible to organized a third group that starts later in the night, but it's hard to know when you'd all come around. Still, it's something I suggest organizing. =)

As for a chat, I was looking towards everyone meeting in-game in the channel "USWest DII.net". That cool with everyone?

dreamboat: Just for clarification, have you decided which pally build you'll go for?

danilo thann: Definitely interesting choices. If I had to sway your decision for the group I might choose the BO for party, but again, it's totally up to you. =)
ethereance: I've bumped you into the first group as I've not heard from litokrn to confirm.

I'm going to PM you all a few days before, so I can confirm everyone's placements and give you a list of account names you need to add when you get in-game.

We'll decide game names and how we'll go about leveling once we meet up in-game.

It'd be great if someone from Group 2 wants to take the reigns and lead it. I can organize things from the forums, but once we get in-game, one of you from group 2 will have to take charge and do headcounts, and get the ball rolling, with or without some.

Generally all my builds ever have been Pallys. So I offer you 3 possible builds.

1) Conviction and vengeance based pally. (I think this would help immensely in a group with elemental damage dealers).

2) Holy shock zealot.

3) Hammerdin.

During the summer, Pacific Daylight time has the same offset as PST....here in Vancouver, PDT and PST end up being the same times. Atleast I'm pretty sure

Anyways, about your builds. =) I think any would go really nicely with the groups. I do like the sounds of the conviction/vengeance pally, but it's really up to you, whichever you're most comfortable with.

We're organizing parties to go right from the start, or close to. If you'll be on then to start, then I'll see what I can do about placing you into a group. =)

Alright so we lost another. My main concern for the group is that it needs a fishy. Far from me to make any demands as I'm going a cookie-cutter blizz sorc but it would be really nice to get an eighth who plans on playing a fishy because I've found from experience that progress really suffers without one.

On item dropping, general etiquette is that it goes to who ever needs it the most. Of course with four sorcs that will be tricky, but it shouldn't be a problem for you.

Any ideas on how to do it? I say everybody just use their discretion. As long as we don't have pick-it/people not fighting just waiting to grab items and people being reasonable about giving up items that clearly benefit another character more, we might as well just ffa it?

Vamshi: We're going to try and share the drops as evenly as we can. Priorities should go to the person that needs it most. If a flukey 40% chancie or something drop along the way it might be difficult to decide who will get it. xD But, most of the stuff we'll be getting early on will be crap rares and crap sets so it shouldn't be too hard to keep everyone happy.

Bereave: We're gonna go with these matchup's for as long as they can hold together. However if people have to drop out to sleep, or work or other things, it's not fair to make the others wait so they can level more. I expect things to shift around quite a bit 2 or 3 days after the reset, when some get ahead, and others fall behind. I suggest everyone adding the accounts of people in other groups aswell, so if you need another player to fill up a group, you can see who's available.

what we really need is an IRC channel were everyone can go on, and live meet up, and maybe update groups as we go, i think that would be the best way to fill out the slots, and later when people list there chars it would be more solid, i myself do not know what char i will start of with.

I'm pretty late, looks like it is already up. I'm avalable to play pretty for the next several days so if there is a gap anywhere id like to fill it. I'd suggest that once your team gets down to 6 players that you meet back in the channel to form back up again. That will give others a chance to jump in and fill the gaps.. Like me :) I'll be doing like canudig, either the enchanter or BO (for now) barb....

Yes, the ladder reset is completed very early. xD Along with a V1.12 patch....which was very small.

2day summary

team2 stayed together till about lvl 24. Since I haven't quested with anybody from the team on purpose (lol).

I ended yesterday rank 22, i'm now 27 but I won't be able to keep up the pace. Just hit 84, am probably going to just mf from now on. Willing to help out, but i have very few wps in nightmare/hell due to excessive leeching of quests and i'm pretty horrible at rushing due to my single tree build.

I was a "walk-in" on that day and joined in with team 1 since there was a no-show. It was quite a diversion from my usual tactics for I usually like to find every single waypoint and/or complete every quest before moving on to the next area. I also have an uncanny urge to kill every monster I come across. As a result, I found myself trying to catch up with the rest of the team most of the time. The best thing was obviously working together rather than constantly against each other like you would witness...elsewhere. It's safe to say that it was the best group of games I've been in in years. But as of yesterday it appeared to me that mostly everybody has separated and began doing their own thing. I'm probably wrong though.

Oh, and the highlight of the night was that quad-kill at Diablo. Still wondering how we fell for that...
