What do you mean by macebarb? a barb that uses a mace? That could be any type of barb. Look in the stickies for guides, especially consider a Frenzy barb, which is probably the best in PvM.

But also consider that a Barb won't be the best character to start with after a reset. For this choose one of the following:
- Cold or Lightning Sorc, or Meteorb Sorc for more flexibility
- Summoner Necro
- Lightning Javazon (less common choice)

Yeah, macebarb - good maces = sucktastic. I'd go with Ed's advice and pick a less item-dependent build to start item finding. If you simply insist, I'd suggest either a 2-handed maul whirlwinder or a dual-wielding frenzier. Standard skill distributions, and get whatever unique maces you can find. Immortal King's set is good for the WW option, and Nord's/Baranar's/Demon Limb is good for the Frenzy option.
