[ESCL] Start of ladder group

Well since the reset has been announced I figured I'd start looking for people to play with when it happens. I did this with a group last reset and it was pretty successful.

Ideally we would have one of each sorc, a fishymancer, a barb to bo, and a pally but it doesn't make a difference to me.

If you want to participate post your account name and I guess I'll try to keep you guys up to date on what we are doing.

I'm actually coming out of a two year retirement to play the new ladder. (God damn diablo relapse!!! XD) I'd definately be down for a group, and ill play a sorc or pally when ladder starts. I definately want to meet some new people and make some friends, and I'm unemployed for the next month so I am planning to play to the excess a little. Im off to buy a battle chest thing one of these days, and I'll hit u up ingame.

Alright I added all of you guys except for greatzeal since I forgot your account name. Including me we have 7 people which leaves one spot open. As for what you guys want to play, build whatever you want. I don't intend on making this a "omg lets rush through the game as fast as possible" type of group. This is more of a laid back and relaxed way.
We don't have to play through the whole game on the day of the reset. Just add each other and maybe find each other in the channel and play together. I don't know how often I'll be online but around the 17th I should be on d2 more frequently. If you need to ask me something then send me a pm.

Yeah it probably will take longer than they estimated but as long as it's before midnight then I won't mind that much. Guys, grab replacements if you can because I don't think everyone is going to be online at the same time. Just have a couple of friends handy in case we have free spots when it resets. Then again, we could just meet up in op diabloii.net and see if anyone there wants to come.

Umm I think the sorc department is all covered unfortunately. So it rounds out to about.. 3 sorcs, barb, 2 pallys, necro, and a... javazon? =D

With 3 sorcs we pretty much can kill all the monsters. The barb is good for the bo which we will need. The necro is great since his minions can tank all the damage and a javazon would be really nice for killing bosses. With 2 pallys we can have 2 auras which is good since the auras will have to cover us for the lack of gear.

Looks like a good group to me. Now we just need to make sure we are all online.

Since this is the only (non-Ventrillo) new ladder season thread for U. S. East, it's either posting here or starting a new thread.

I've been trying to find old RuST members or long-time forum players who don't screw around and play with brains (don't rush into a room that clearly contains a boss pack and lead them to the party in fear) as well as help retrieve bodies when the unfortunate occurs (I take one for the team if I accidentally find a boss pack by leading them away).

I've been trying to think of a build which can use almost any gear that drops, but most of those are very precise and need specific gear to work, like windwolves. I'm more than happy to play a Druid, assuming were talking about trying to get to CLvl99, as even pure winds can contend with Sorceresses for top of the ladder, but I can change as long as the character is still useful after the race.

If there are 16 people in this group, then it may be possible just to play with whoever is available online: first eight make a game, the rest just wait for others in the group to log in. This would work even better if we could just get all players from this forum playing on East to sign up and grab whoever is in the channel, Op DiabloII.Net.

Let it be known I'm waiting for an e-mail from my old partner to find out if he's going to continue, and he lives way out there on the west coast, so he might be in on this, too. He's played massive summoner Necromancers, but I think I can get him to start using Corpse Explosion, this time.

Shutting down at 9PDT is 12Noon EDT, and six hours later would put it at 6PM EDT. Be on early though, just in case, and if you remember last season it took... what, nine hours or longer to get it up? Either way they were very late.

I don't have a microphone, at least not one attached to my headphones (another pair, yes, but doubt I can cut-and-paste in real life) and no freestanding one unless I make one from the other pair, but I'm sure I've used Ventrillo in the past for Quake3. Listening should be easy, yes?

Alright, Ventrilo up and I see the server (haven't connected since I have no microphone yet and we're not playing). I also have Y!M, which has voice capability, and am always online whenever I can remember running it after booting.

Still need to know what's lacking with builds, so I can fill in where needed, and remember my partner may yet respond and join. Seems, though, we have at least three Blizzard builds, and that's at least one too many. When combined with Meteorb I think we need a bit more versatility. Again, as long as I'm in the race, playing a windy is still a possibility, which gives a touch of cold and mostly physical with great protection. Combining with a Meteorb would be great, I should think, and Corpse Explosion from my partner should be fantastic physical/fire/cold set-up. Just need lighting, poison, and magic... Anyone playing Hammer/Spear?

I'd like speed, too, but after testing the microphone I peeled from an old headset and trying the connection, we got kicked off twice. If we're not authorized to use that server, then any audio is going to have to go through something like Y!M. I can't 'depend' on audio warnings if something like that's going to happen.

Anyway, the realms are down and I foresee four or more hours of waiting. I need confirmation soon. Good luck installing the entire game and getting the settings correct before the season starts.
