Upgrading Set Items

:thumbup:ok...todays puzzler is.......apart from socketing a set items and putting a gem or jewel in it...........is there any way of upgrading a set item.
i.e. from exceptional to elite
i've done a bit of research on it but cannot find any info on it.
maybe some geeky boffin out there might have found a way to do it and would like to share it with the rest of us plz.............thanx:highfive:

didn't think so........but you never know.....there might be some clever sort out there....or maybe give blizzard something the think about!!!
i know most sets are pants...but the odd item is worth doing...i.e guillaumes
