Help!!!!! Can't run directdraw 2d mode only 3d mode.

Hi!

I can't run my diablo in directdraw mode (2d) I have been doing D2VidTst.exe and x marked 2d everytime but it changes back to 3d instantly on closedown. Really need help on this one... tell me what to do pls!

OS:Windows Vista
Comp:hp pavillion 9500dv
Geforce 6800
ettc
