Top ten signs that you are spending way too much time playing the Game.
I'll start with #1.

When you try to log into your workplace network you automatically start keying your Diablo account password.

you dont pick up 499 gold coins on the street, because you start picking only up at 500 gold.

You attack a 9 year old using a huge sword shouting prepare to die noob, because he made fun of your appearance

If you can come up with 10 reasons why you've been playing too much Diablo... you've definitely been playing too much Diablo...

You see someone win at a slot machine, and ask him "how much goldfind?"

You see a large glowing portal appear in the middle of the wilderness, and your first reaction is to run in an erratic dodging pattern. If you see the same portal walking down the street in the city, you figure you're pretty safe and go about whatever you were doing.

You're still playing.
A ladder reset might get me back.
A TPPK fix would probably get me back.
A ladder reset coupled with a TPPK fix might ruin my life. (more)

Your company's IT deparment specifically locks out any network access to your favorite D2 website.

My ringtone is "Tirstram" by Matt.

My old alphanumerical passwords for my DII accounts are used at work for my workplace.

I still come here and post after two years of non-playing.

Two of those won't happen.

And a ladder reset wouldn't get me back.

Heads up, that might not be d2 related.

This dream thing reminded me of something.

I've actually had a few dreams where my HC character has been near death or died and I've woken up rather upset about the situation only to realize it was a dream and that they are all still alive and well.

I've done that too.
I don't think it's a sign you're playing too much...not enough, if anything. If you'd been busy playing instead of sleeping you wouldn't have had such terrible nightmares.

Too much is more like you fall asleep playing in the middle of not-town, dream you're still playing, find a fathom in your dreams, wake up excited, and see the deeds screen.

In other words... it's only too much when it gets your dude killed. Or you. Those handful of cases of people dying in cyber cafes or whatever are probably examples of playing too much too.

I've used the word "too" far more often than seems reasonable in this post.

1. You start having dreams about your characters / most fond characters... to see yourself scourging the diabloverse through your dreams.

2. You view yourself as a you view yourself in d2 (ex. equipped my jogging pants of improve running +15 move speed.)

3. When you get injured you mentally/physically always soup yourself up in drinks... because you know by drinking a lot of potions will make it so your wounds will magically get healed up and clear your mind.

4. You find yourself in situations where PK'ing won't be beneficial and will actually hurt you both mentally and physically.

You've played too much Diablo when you start thinking that you've played too much.

And I think I've played a little more than is mentally healthy.

So long as it hasn't been too much.

Yeah, you don't want too much or else you'll start writing "too" too way too much, too.

You know, like too much games can lead to too much too Diablo too, two, to??!

+1 on the dreams. All last night, I was dragging my kicker through hell and I died! I died and I was so incredibly upset. I woke up at about 4am in a cold sweat and logged in to make sure she was still alive (sure enough, she is).

Add another one to the dream list... i was playing an old patch in a dream with a new character..I was Leap Attacking in cs to prevent instant Iron maiden death...yes i was doing classic cs runs!.. before xpac even came out....Only to realize that IM will kill you nowadays with Leap Attack-MID LEAP OF COURSE-......then knowing i was just about to die once my lancer landed on seis.. then hitting alt+f4 at the moment i heard the scream. -awuhhhhhhhaaaaaaa-. then u realize u dont got loot either.....I woke up mumbling and my girl asked me "What are dirty Hydra pk's? -sorssiees-?, what is a sorssseeee?" LOL-
Oi! and telling your gf to let u finish this cs run before sex... only to get a soj[classic hc] that run from seis.. and then no loving after the screaming and jumping around [positively pissing her off because you dont make that much noise during intercourse :)]

yes d2 dreams are no uncommon thing.
I find the point in life that makes you realise you play the game too much is when you start trying to discuss items with a friend in real life (i.e. actually talking to them).
It's very awkward. You find that you don't know whether to refer to the items by their full names or not (i.e. heart of the oak or HOTO). You then refer to them by their acronyms, and feel like an idiot.
Imagine saying out loud, "hey, the other day i traded my HoeToe for 4 Hrrrs and a Coh"

lol @ diablo dreams..

Me and my brother went to the airshow at mcguire afb on sunday and we were looking at the grounded airplanes/helos and there was a sweet kiowa warrior with a rocket pod on it. So I point at the pod and ask my brother "do you think they maxed fire bolt, fire ball, and fire mastery??" he simply replied "I hate you" lol

Just a fyi a OH-58 Kiowa Warrior is an observation helicopter which, if armed is usually lightly armed. In this case a hydra rocket pod was on it lmao!

Pfffft, the amount of porn I've surfed while waiting for a duel is about 1/2 of what the average teen surfs...
