Would a AzureWrath phaseblade be BETTER then a grief phaseblade?
Stats are:
30% increased attack speed
231% increased damage
Adds 250-500 magic damage
Adds 250-500 cold damage
5 to all attributes
1 to all skills
Level11 Sanctuary aura when equipped
Short answer, no.
Long answer: No.
The +damage counts towards smite damage, after that is multiple by all sources of off weapon ed, your looking at really high numbers.
Azurewrath doesn't offer much to a smiter, the elemental damages doesn't work with smite, all it got is speed and +1 skill.

arrrrgh.
this forum has a SEARCH function. this question has been asked and answered, at length, numerous times.
what you must understand is that enhanced damage does nothing for smite because it is not melee, it has to attack rating. + damage works though, so grief's 340-400 damage goes straight into smite. Also, i dont care if your weapon does 15k max damage, your smite wont go up at all, its your shield's damage that counts. the only thing you have to worry about is its speed.

Albeit not something as far-fetched as Azurewrath vs Grief lol. Still beats Last Wish vs Grief arguments though.

I figured out also that the 500-1000 damage kicks in after Fanatism calculations,... which makes it hit pretty much the same as my Heaven's light.

i hate to break it too you, but the added elemental and magic damage won't get carried over by smite.
and no, that added ele/magic damage doesn't get boosted by Fanatacism. i don't know where you got that info, but it's incorrect.
