View Full Version : Levelling 7 classes at once - need suggestions

In an effort to spice up the game a bit for me (and given the fact that I've only really ever extensively played the assassin class), I've decided to try and level 7 different HC characters (one from each class) at the same time. I'll probably play each for 10 levels before cycling through (maybe 5 levels later on, once it starts getting slow). That way, I won't get bored with having to play the same class and style all the way through.

So, given that I have basically zero experience with anything other than assassins, I figured I'd post here looking for suggestions on good HC builds for each class. Ideally, my goal is to finish act 5 on hell with each of them, untwinked, and singleplayer.

I'm also considering doing this with softcore characters, seems how I lack experience, so if you have some suggestions for fun SC builds, throw them out too.

Here's what I'm thinking so far, having just browsed the forums a bit, but I really do need suggestions and advice.

Assassin - Poison/Blades (the only assassin build I haven't tried, so I'd like to see if this works for HC rather than a pure trapper)

Amazon - LF/CS javazon

Barb - ?

Druid - ?

Necro - Skelly summoner? Sounds kind of boring though, so I might want something more involving, but still safe enough for HC

Paladin - ?

Sorc - Meteorb

Off the top of my head:

Barb - Frenzy Barb
Druid - Hurricane/Armaggedon IK Hunger Bear
Pally - Elemental gear/conviction

To toss another Barb build into the ring, I'm gonna suggest Concentrate, with Howl and/or a few points in WW for crowd control. From my experience, their survivability is pretty great, what with BO and all.

So far as Palas go, I've always had fun with Zeal.

Paladin - Throw Smiter. Use harpoons, a good shield, and a combonation of holy shock and fanaticism to battle your way through the masses. Also known as the Dragoon.

Barbarian - I second the frenzy barb. So much fun. :)

Druid - Shock + Fire claw bear or Armegeddon.

Assassin - Poison/Blades (the only assassin build I haven't tried, so I'd like to see if this works for HC rather than a pure trapper). --Good plan.

Amazon - LF/CS javazon--cookie cutter, will make some of the other stuff seem less powerfull. Try a pikey-pokey-zon.

Barb - Berserker! I did a Berserker in the early days of 1.10, and I rarely had tougher fights or more enjoyment than an untwinked 'zerker.

Druid - PFireclaws Werebear

Necro - Zoomancer... max skeletons, skeleton mastery, magi, revives, and have as many running around as possible. A good necro player is constantly working the field, and managing the entire herd is one of the most involving jobs there is. It requires constant attention, a lot of curses, and is a lot of fun.

Paladin - Depends... Hammerdin for brute power, but why not try a Ranger (bow-din)? Rangers are an art-form of course.

Sorc - Meteorb.... standard cookie-cutter, but amusing. Or try Firewall Orb. Or a Charged boltress...

Ever tried a frost zealot or a strafer? Love'em! Both a bit item dependant, but there's plenty cheaper stuff to choose from.
