Is a 40 enhanced damage 15 maximum damage jewel better than a ber to socket in a shako for a smiter? You get the extra damage in the jewel, but the damage reductino in the Ber. What is better for pvp?

If you absolutely cannot attain 2os coa then you should BER the shako to reach as close to 50

Shako is pretty cheap to get
I would get one with Jah and ber.

Jah shako just for hdins/necros.

How?
I have that kind of jewel, so it would be disappointing.

peteZ and aI, smite is not bugged, but it isnt considered to be melee since it does not have an attack rating. Therefore, enhanced damage % on equipment does not affect its damage. Thats why you wear exile instead of phoenix, etc. I dont even recommend shako, I like guillaumes face or coa, crushing blow or damage reduction, respectively, its up to what you like. If you like shako, go with um or ber.

I'm not sure if Shako is the best helm for a Smiter. I'd go with Guillaume's, Tal's, Gaze, CotA, ...

Skill bonuses are just not that important.

Wrong.

Smite is affected by enhanced damage % from off weapon items. Make it ed jewels, forti or phoenix or what ever.

Ed / min and Ed / max jewels are bugged, when you socket them in a non weapon item.

Coa ftw! yea it only has +1 skills while shako has +2 and yea shako has the + life, but coa has 1 more socket, more %dr, + all res, and 30%fhr.

And requires 174 strength. If you are going that high anyway, then COA is wonderful, but Shako is a very useful helm...

And most smiters these days are telesmite, no? Meaning they have Enigma which takes care of the most part of the strength requirement on coa.
