killer damage at level 31

One the these days I was in a game, and some guy was pissing everyone off. I was with my Lf/Pj PvM lvl 84 zon, and the guy was a lvl 31 paladin (charger). My gear was entirely PvM oriented, but I do very well in Hell, and just to mention, no Uber gear here, no MDR, 850 Life, resists through the roof.

So I hostile the guy, he goes out of town (with salvation on). I had done very very few duels with this char (my first one), so I really messed up.

He was trying to charge me but I poisoned him with Plague jav, and his life went to 1 in a sec. However he ran to town before i could kill him (I wasn't fast enough). He cam back fully healed and tried to charge me again.

After several failed charges he had a successful one and "bang" one-hit-kill.

There is the 1/6 PvP penalty and he claimed to have 5k damage. Now 5000/6 = 833, if he had 5.5k and did max damage on that particular charge (or had deadly strike or Crushing blow) it would make sense to insta-kill me.

But my question is: how do you get 5k charge damage at lvl 31?

Oh and btw, he left right away after that duel so I couldn't have anymore tries and actually kill him.

Steeldriver 250ed eth, max dam=300
3max sc*40, max dam=120

Charge lvl 18 525ed
might lvl 20 400ed(synergy) 230ed(aura)

(300+120)*(100+525+400+230)/100=5200

this is only a assumption, i have never actually try this.

Something like an Eth Insight Partizan can do wicked damage.

I prefer an eth upped Bonesnap. My max damage with one of those with mediocre equipment and some crappy +max charms did 6,6k damage not figuring in critical hit :wink3:

Thanks for all your answers, (especially the one saying that I lost, how'd you figure that?)

However, IIRC he had a shield as well, so no Mauls or polearms...

Thing is... it was a surprise for both, since once I poisoned him, he ran into town right away, when he saw his life go to 1 in one sec.

I was also surprised that his damage (one-handed) was so high at that level.

I also think he might have had lower damage, but had a lucky deadly strike when he did manage to hit me. (Most of the time i was blocking/dodging)

(BTW this was my first duel ever with the zon, so I admit I really messed up, won't happen again, promise!:laugh:)

If it was a 1 hander (axe?) I can almost positively say its Honor runeword in a Naga. Those coupled with some damage charms can easily reach 4k damage, and getting a crit hit on that Can easily hurt alot :laugh:

I've met only 1 really sick charger in my days of duelling. He had good defense, insane ar and dmg, very nice life and ofc max block. I suspect he had some extremely good charms and equip. He cleared a room of decent enough high lvls.:grin:

Ofc it could have been hacks :hide:

well, it was probably charms giving loads of damage (maybe AR, but my def was really low ->800)

So you say that lvl 29 charger played against more higher level chars?

Anyway... if I had a bit more dueling experience or a few more tries I'm sure he wouldn't have been such a big deal:rolleyes:
