Can a blizz sorc kill DC?

I was wondering if a pure cold sorc can kill DC?

I mean he got like 95 cold res, but will cold mastery lower this?

If i spend all my points in CM + skillers DC´s cold res will be negative, and I should be able to kill him right?

Any resist that is not an immunity (100+ base resist) can get lowered by Cold Mastery down to -100. Meaning if you have level 34 Cold Mastery, you will DECIMATE DC. However, you don't have to have lvl 34 CM to get DC killed. Even if you have 27-28, that's enough.

However, consider getting a source or Open Wounds or Poison damage on your Mercenary, to slow down/stop DC's natural regeneration (some odd thousands hp per second!). Alternatively, you can use a Long War Bow with 5x Eth (for -defense) and 1x Mal (for Prevent Monster Heal), until you hit him. You can use an elemental damage small charm to see whether your arrow actually hit DC. Remember, PMH does not work on mercs, and Eth works at half efficiency versus bosses. Meaning 4x Eth will not give -100% DC defense, but -50%.

I've killed him many times before with an mf cold sorc. Which had around +10 to all skills/sorc skills. It is indeed nice to have a merc with a prevent monster heal polearm! There's many items that have this stat, just equip it for DC. Your merc might die in a couple of second though, so more importantly: fire a continuous array of Blizzard, every time it is up, and you should be fine.

Tsk tsk tsk, deepfreez, like I said, PMH does not work on a merc. Only OW and Poison Damage can actually be applied. PMH must be used by your character. Also, PMH is reset when you take TP or leave the area (you must be within 2 screens of the monster, or any "permanent" effects are reset).

If you're drunk enough it should go smooth.

BTW, prevent monster heal doesn't work on bosses, neither if you or your merc use it. Open Wounds and poison helps, not PMH.

I believe prevent monster heal works on anything besides the Ubers. It certainly works on Diablo Clone.

You are right, UberB. PMH does work on anything except Uber Diablo/Baal/Mephisto. I am not sure about the mini-Ubers, though.
