Best merc equipment for a pure Light sorc?

Hi all.. I've recently made a new light sorc and went for a build where I hold the "stick" myself; which means that my merc is free to do pretty much whatever he wants :)

When going for the best possible equipment.. what should I take?

So far, I am assuming an andyface for the head and a DS fortitude for chest.

My biggest concern is the type of merc and the weapon..

Is it worth it to go Doom and then take a might or defiance merc?

Or is another weapon better, and then taking a holy freeze merc?

'Insight' Polearm. Make 2: 1 low damage for CS and Nihlathak, 1 high damage for everything else.

'Fortitude' high-defense armor.

Andariel's Visage or Vampire Gaze.

Trust me, you will need the Insight's Meditation...

I use a shaftstop, and vamp gaze on my merc, and the reapers toll. Im meteorb however, i would imagine if your lightning you would go with an infinity.

As for insight... would doom with a prayer merc be a possibility?

Lightning sorceresses are very mana hungry. And since you use Infinity, and no Spirit, you will be lacking in mana. So, you need regen.

Actually, Thresher or Great Polearm are better, they are faster. However, they are more expensive.

and they are not as heavy. 200 for ecv is a lot even if its eth. but yes, for sure Insight cause lightning hogs the mana

Reaper's Toll (norm or eth). Blackhorn's Face(ench+poison jool) and Duress (or *) armor works. And pick your favorite aura (might, holy freeze, defiance), all works.

I don't really buy the need for Insight - I use an Infinity HF merc, and I only have about 10 warmth (1 pt, and +skill items). The only time I pot is mana burn or heavy hits (I do use mana shield, it's worth the point).

I currently also have a pure lightning sorc, i was actually tossing up between an Infinity or Insight.

If you're gonna make a pure lightning sorc then you pretty much need an Infinity, otherwise you'll hit a lot of immunes in hell.

Sure, you can work around it (letting merc kill them or teleing away) but it's a real bother.

Pure lightning infinity wins hands down - You will use far less attacks thus less mana to kill monsters thus no longer needing the boost in mana regen.
