How important is dr for a bone necro?

Hi, I am planning to soon enter the pvp arena with a bone necro, The gear I envisage will be something like this

circlet with 3PnB sk/2 necro sk/20 fcr/ perhaps some adds
maras
enigma
spirit 35
tran gloves
arach
2sojs/1 soj ravenfrost
hoto

now the thing is this build will give me no %dr, so my question i, how important is it?, can a necro surive without it, by using bone armor?

The alternative as I see it would be to replace maras with a 10fcr necro amulet(to keep 125fcr) and use a CoA instead of circlet. Now this will not only decrease my damage slightly due to one less skill, but also require 18 more points in strength, it will however give me ~30% dr as opposed to what i would get by socketing a circlet(8-16% if blue or yellow) is it worth it?

I would switch rings for fcr rings and maras for fcr amu. Then you can wear Stormshield and still hit 125%fcr. Switch gear back against non physical chars.

are you sure that is a good idea? I would lose both the cannot be frozen of ravenfrost, 3 skills(or 4 skills) all for some dr(while my idea loses only 1 skill and 18 vit points for slightly less dr, even though yours is alot cheaper :)). My necro will mainlybe to duel random pubbies so I would like to make a sustainable build without having to gear switch.

you can go the circlet/SS route, or the shako/spirit/dungos route, but you definitely need one setup where you have DR. CBF is only really important in duels vs windies, but you'll have a dedicated setup for that.

If you desire DR on a Nec, you might aswell for MB aswell. All or nothing.

You can't rely on bone armor for a physical defense alone - it'll get destroyed by one smite and the smite will still eat up a good portion of your health.
