Hey, I am new to this game again. I used to play a lot a few years ago, then my account got stolen and I quit and sold the CD and Key. I'm going to try getting back into the game again because it's a lot of fun. Gonna hit up the used game store tomorrow.
My questions are:
1 - what has changed from 1.10 to 1.11? Is there is summary somewhere? Couldn't find anything worthwhile on a search...
2 - in 1.11, what is the easiest class to do some quick levelling and MFing? I liked army necs, fire+lit sorcs and to a lesser degree pals and barbs from 1.10, are they as fun and easy when you are flat broke (in-game economically speaking)?
3 - anything else I should know that has changed in the last few years?
Only thing they really added was Uber trist and dclone, you can find information for both in the community forum sticky that says links.
2. Leveling doesn't depend on class, you can get rushed to hell and level in chaos runs and go to 1-70 in 2 hours, you can go from 1-85 in 1 hour of uber trist leveling. I suggest a meteorb sorc for MFing easily. Guide is in the sorc forum guide sticky. Its a sorc that uses meteor for main damage skill and frozen orb to kill fire immunes.

Some good builds for getting started are:
Lightning trapper with a fireblast backup.

I recommend only a 1 point shadow master so you can invest more in synergies.

Dual element sorceress. I am parital to blizzard-firewall using glacial spike as the main synergy (for thee group freezing effect.) Meteor-Orb is also good to start with.

It is harder to wear magic find gear on a melee character so barbarian and paladin are harder to use as a starter MF character. Although once you get dual ali-babba swords for a barbarian if you invest a little in find item he can be great too.

Is this a common pubby practice, like cow runs used to be?
Wow, two posts since July '03.
Not common for public games actually, it takes the correct party and alot more organization. Here's a link if you want to read about how it's done:

Not at all, no pubby is going to give away 1 HR worth of keys and the torch for pubbies.
