View Full Version : Does % life work before or after BO?
If I put a Jah in my shako, how much will my life actually increase? Will it be 5% of my BOed life, or just 5% of my previous life.

It will not get multiplied by BO. Following life mods are not affected by BO:
Life/level
Life%
+Vita (from items)
so are you saying the % will work after BO? So say I have 4k life after BO, then the 5% will kick in?

%life works together with BO. They add up linearly, i.e. %BO+%life, not %BO*%life. If you have 2k before BO and 4k after BO (examples), and you use a Jah, you will get 2*(1.05+1)=4.1k life, not 2*2*1.05=4.2k.

I think I did a good job here:

In case you still need clarification.
[edit] Also, a fact unknown to many: often, a P.Ruby can easily win out against a Jah. Just a heads up. Make sure you do the calculations first.
For barbs, often a Pamethyst will be even better than a pruby, if you need the str anyway. The 10 saved stat points then makes for hard points in vita, which would be 40 base life, compared to 38 for a ruby. For everyone else, the ruby is better.
The only problem if you use pamethysts is that you can't swap out that piece of gear if you don't take care of the strength in another way.
