View Full Version : Socketing Items w/Larzuk

I've searched around but want to make sure of two things before proceeding:

Is there a list anywhere that describes which ilvls produce which socket count?
Also, do ethereal items get sockets in the same manner as plain white items?

I ask because I just found an eth Colossus Blade in The Pit in Hell. If I give it to Larzuk he'll ostensibly add six sockets, right? Then I could put one of those stupidly overpowered runewords in it, yes?

Thanks. I just don't want to waste a quest, and couldn't find anything on the forums that seemed credible enough to assuage my hesitance.

The fourth post will answer question one. (http://www.battle.net/forums/thread.aspx?fn=d2-general&t=1353173&p=1&#post1353173) I'm pretty sure that the answer to question two is "yes", but some reading in the link should clarify that.

if found in an area lvl 40 or higher, larz will give it max sockets (6)

or cube socketing it will give a random number (1-6)

If the bow is a "white" item, don't waste the socketing quest on it. Use the cube. I would use the socketing quest to add sockets to a unique item for additional mods desired. If the item is not a "white" item, then you can't make a runeword anyway since runewords only work on socketed regular items (ie no magic, rare, unique or set stuff).

Updated Ilvl ranges, should be 41+, at least for 1.10 and above.
