effects applied to smite

hi everyone. i made some search in strategy forum, but many links about smite effects there are broken.

i have question about weapon effects for smite damage. do weapon mods like "120% enhanced damage","add 200 magic damage", "+200% damage to demons" and "slows target by 25%" apply to smite? if someone can provide working link for a list of all effects applied/not applied to smite that would be great.

Hmmm, those are some pretty in depth questions. You might find better luck in the Pala forum.

But I'll try my best to see if I can answer it. The ED% on weapons does not apply to Smite I think, but I do believe the added damage of any kind (plain, Magic, Lightning, Cold, Fire) is added to Smite. Especially the 'adds xxx damage' (plain) is useful, because that number will be upped by ED from other sources, so that number can grow quite high. That's why Grief is very popular for Smiters.

Hit blinds target
Hit freezes target
Open Wounds
Enhanced Damage
Prevent Monster Heal
+Damage modifier on the Redeemer and Astreon's Iron Ward
Curses such as Life Tap, Amplify Damage...

Things that won’t work with smite:

Life or Mana leech
Deadly Strike
Elemental Damage
+Max/Min Damage

No, any off enhanced damage will work though, like ed jewels in armor but not enhanced damage on weapon.

+x% to demons undead applies, but only if it's off-weapon. COH's +200% ED to demons will work, for example.

The ed on laying of hands is ed vs. demons and it does not work with smite. Normal enhanced damage works.

^Is the answer I got when I asked if laying of hands works with smite.
