Some people on the forums say that PMH doesn't work on ubers, and some say that Act bosses do not regenerate. Does this mean that Ubers regenerate?

Also a question about poison (which is mostly disregarded):
Do monsters heal from poison damage (i.e. after the poison is gone)?

I say this beacause I made a test with hell cows: I poisoned them they lost about 1/3 HP, then I ran away killed other cows, then I went to town. Essentially about 5 minutes later, they were still missing 1/3 HP. I did this with high level plague javelin.

Would poison work in the same way with ubers?

It is my understanding that poison does create a prevent monster heal type effect with Ubers and bosses. Necros tend to use this fact a lot when trying to solo the ubers by using poison mages in combination with CB revives.

I thought that poison prevented the monsters to heal while poisoned, but even 5-10 minutes after.

I noticed that some monsters (deat/stee scarabs) have very high regeneration rates, so it's hard to kill them (I also play self-found). So I was thinking, that maybe you could just poison them and you would eventually kill them.

I noticed that sometives teh Valkyrie and a hell monster could go on forever fighting and no one would win cause they both have high life regen. Well.. if the same slvl valkyrie had poison...

So poison creates PMH for the rest of the game or what?

Poison overwrites regeneration rate for as long as the enemy is poisoned. If you have rigorous test results to the contrary, I believe it would generate interest.

My only/rigurous test is in the above posts:

Cows damaged from poison did not regenerate at all even 5 minutes after the poison was gone (I wasn't in the same screen so I didn't keep an eye on them)

If you have any suggestion on an irrefutable test, let me know and I'll do it as soon as I have the chance.

Well, I think that sometimes the regeneration vs poison is screwed, so I believe you. Maybe leaving to twon has something to do with that too. Anyways monsters are supposed to regenerate life after the poison effect ends.

Monsters might be "deactivated" when nobody is near to save server resources, else e.g. blood hawk nests might create minions all the time once they have been spawned. Even carver shamans stop resurrecting in that case AFAIK, so regeneration might stop in such a case as well.

Some people on the forums say that PMH doesn't work on ubers, and some say that Act bosses do not regenerate. Does this mean that Ubers regenerate? Ubers do regenerate, FAST. However, all you need to stop their regen is open wound, which is on dracs and gores.

I'm not sure they are deactivated...

I almost killed meph with a cold sorc, exited the game, rejoined with another char, walked all the way to Durance 3, killed all monsters in durance 3, and meph was at full health.

So he did regenerate. Maybe i'll try the same with poison, see if he regen.

Open wounds is great cause is applied by smite and cannot be resisted.

Open wounds is a must when you are fighting the ubers cause theey do heal.

I know that, I was referring to Regular Hell Mephisto though, and regarding poison effect on him. After the open wounds timer is gone, they resume regeneration, not sure about poison though.

Here's a speculation:
They are probably not instantly deactivated, but rather after some time when no one is around (ie. they can regenerate, then get deactivated).

Here is a fact:
Monsters get spawned when you are way outside of their range. The same should go for reactivation. So the sweet time you took to kill the monsters in Durance 3 is a good time for him to regen.
