Hello everyone,
i am new poster to the forum but rather a frequent reader. Its one of those really few times that i dont seem to find an adequet answer. And here is my problem. Most of the guides here are brilliant but require gear at stock. What do u do if u dont have the gear specified? I am following the kodiac guide lines with summon support. All perfect at early levels. My greatest concern is hell difficulty and PI monsters. I havent ever found a tiamat, a reapers toll or runes above ko !! I am running diablo and mephi hell with 300mf sorc for gear. Any suggestions for PI counter for a poor bear (apart from real life killing mf)? Will the summons be able to handle hell monsters ?? My build will be the town dumper but without most of the gear mensioned cause iam playing untwinked for higher levels.

To make a Kodiak / Bear Summoner you don't need very expensive gear, but it will be pretty much impossible without a few basics. Mainly, you need something with Crushing Blow to make it work. Some items with CB are pretty cheap, such as the IK Maul. So do the following:
- Do more MF, pick up everything with some value (runes, pgems, gold/green items)
- Trade these for pgems or directly for IK stuff (maul, gloves, boots, belt), Duriel's shell, a low Raven Frost.
- Get yourself Jalal's Mane. Should cost you about 10-15 pgems.
- Get a Reaper's Toll, for about 5 pgems.
With that you've got everything you absolutely need.

Also, PI's might be immune to the damage of Shockwave, but not the stun! They turn into cuddly little bear cubs just like everything else ;)

Keep in mind you don't have to even kill PI's, just shockwave them and keep going.

Some cheap options to consider: try using yellow weapons with high elemental damage on switch or have glimmershreds on switch. There's few weapons with chance to cast amplify damage (necro spell) that will for the most part mess up PIs. There are lots of ways to get rid of PIs.

If you are having trouble finding certain items, try the trade forums (for the realm in which you play) so you can trade for them. As Ed from Russia explained, many of the essential items can be traded for for mere pgems.

If you can get your summons to a decent level (35 or so) they will be able to handle most situations in Hell (with your Druid's help of course).
