What Weapon to make mana golem

I have been reading for a while and am just starting act V NM with my fishy that is my first ladder character. I have been reading a lot about using a low damage Insight to create an iron golem for the pure mana rush. My question is what weapon should I be using for the base to build the Insight in? I already have all the runes and I understand after getting hammered in the CS that the reason for the low damage is to keep him from obliterating himself if a knight hits him with Iron Maiden, but do you want to make it in a plain Voulge, or should I at least go with a Bill. Also I know the runeword formula says polarms and staves but could you also use a spear or Trident. Thanks for the help.:cool:

Use the lowest damage polearm you can find for an insight golem. He's not there to do anything but provide an aura.

Only polearms for this golem. Can't make insight in spear class weapons. I would also assume you can't make an iron golem out of a staff class weapon.
