Diablo III is coming, are you ready for it?

Im almost sure it won't be released it in 2008 but come on only 300 differents monsters? in 8 years time they could come up with over 1000 monsters mabye more skills for more various builds? Anyway I am going to buy just hoping it will be worth it :)

My thoughts exactly, initially at least. I'm not sure what to think about this. I'm just going to remain skeptical until further information, if any, is released.
Well, the thing is that when Blizzard is involved I'm the "No trust till I don't see it myself". I mean i definetly want Diablo III to happen, but i won't believe they're making it till i hear/see them say so. :smiley:

The date April 1st is a bit suspicious. That would be such an obvious April fool's joke that people might question it being one which makes it interesting again for such a prank. Also, by announcing it on April 1st and never commenting on it later, they are free to call it an April fool's joke or not, whatever might be convenient at a later time.

I saw few fake trailers on youtube and I think that release gonna happened in few years couse Starcraft 3 is on the target now.But let's hope that I'm wrong :)

Dang, would have been nice if it was real! Although the 'announcement' of skills that could be used by more than one character class would be pretty plausible - think, if we could all teleport, Hammerdins would be neatly nerfed!

Weren't secret cow level screenshots released on April 1st as well? All thought it was a prank and well, it wasn't. It's about time they at least announce that there will be D3 even if we have to wait for it.

Ignoring the April Fools stuff the recent activity that hints towards D3 would be Richard Knaak saying that he is not writing for a dead world, rather a world with dead in it. Also the Blizzard World Wide Invitational on June 28 & 29 which is dang near if not to the day of the release of D2 is rather telling. But that be about it. The one I would bet a few bucks on is that at the WWI there will be something about the future of the Diablo game series one way or another. I can also believe that Bliz will be VERY tight lipped until June 28-29. If they want to use that date for a huge announcement such as D3 then it would behoove them to be real aloof about it until then. They would not want to spoil the surprise by leaking out any real info before then. So...personally I am going to wait until June 28-29 and see what transpires then. In the meantime I will be busy reading the Diablo novels that I recently aquired (The Sin War series). Just started book 2 and so far it's a good story! It is possible that one of the purposes of the books are to have characters in the books appear in a new game, but I will refrain from such speculation! :-)
It is interesting to read that Diablo can speak. I have not played D1 in ages so if I recall correctly he said little other than "Ugh!" when he was hit. In the games only Mephisto and Baal talk but in the books the lord of terror has things to say. Maybe we will finally get to hear Diablo speak in a game, but then that is further speculation that I have sworn to refrain from!
Blizzard, (if you're out there:thumbsup:) when making Diablo III be sure to include the things that make Diablo, well, Diablo. Diablo III should be intrinsically identical to Diablo I and II in all aspects; e.g., leveling speed, atmosphere, combat, etc.
And please, do not steer the series into the MMORPG generation; but if you must, then at least keep the top-down camera view, the dark brooding atmosphere, and the fast-paced gameplay. Thank you.
PS: Oh, and one last thing: Do not forget the Hardcore players!

I'll cry with you. Don't mean to piss on everyone's bonfire and as much as I'd love DIII to be announced at the next announcement thing, I'm pretty pessimistic about the whole thing. Knowing Blizzard, it'll probably be an add-on to WoW.

Well then I should say Diablo has never spoken in a cutscene or said anything of any length. Mephisto gabs and gabs both in cutscene and seemingly will not shut up during gameplay. Baal says what he needs to mostly in the cutscenes. Diablo says nada in the cutscenes and then only that one line off-screen in the game. And the Dark Wanderer is not Diablo talking!
So hopefully in D3 Diablo has something of note to say other than a one-liner!

If I'm not mistaken, doesn't the Wanderer say to Marius in the second cinematic (I think) that the demon in Marius' dream (Baal) was his brother? So, technically, the Dark Wanderer is Diablo talking :tongue:
On a different note, I would like to as where you got the books the Sin War trilogy from as I'd be very interested in reading them :smiley:

Just be aware that this AFD Joke was NOT done by Blizzard. It was done up by a non-Blizzard Diablo forums/news site as a joke. The only Diablo themed AFD joke that did come from Blizzard was the Diablo Loot Piñata. This is currently my desktop wallpaper! http://www.blizzard.com/us/diablo2exp/pinata.html
What this AFD joke tells us is that Bliz has not forgotten about the good old Lord Of Terror so that's something!

Well it is my not so humble opinion that while the Dark Wanderer may be repeating the thoughts of Diablo, it is not the demon itself speaking. Once he ditches the body of the Diablo 1 hero the only thing he has to say is that one-liner after the seals are broken.
I purchased the Sin War books from local book stores. Books 1 & 3 from a Barnes and Noble in downtown Seattle and Book 2 from an independant store called 3rd Place Books in Kenmore WA. They can be bought on-line but with the shipping costs I found it more worthwhile to look for them at local book stores. The only thing was that finding them was difficult at first. Both stores did not stock them in the Science-Fiction/Fantasy as I expected. Instead they were stocked in a section that was for books based on video games in both stores.
I like them as I am a big fan of the Necromancer character and this book series shows us the origin of that sect...."The Dragon has chosen YOU!"...The Dragon in question being Trang-Oul.

Yeah, i just recently started to think about this lol. The game itself will probably cost a nice ammount of dollars.
I doubt my wallet will let me pay for a high montly fee, but on the other hand, there will be alot of less non-intellectual random b.netters if there's a montly fee to be paid.

Starcraft Ghost did not come out because of Starcraft II. Nothing says that they wont make Diablo III. I mean, who would like to throw a bunch of millions down in the lake Hylia?
