View Full Version : Smiter: Defiance or Might?
So I am making a Pally and I asked a few people what skills to make, few said Might, few said Defiance.
I was told Might because it synch's with Fana? Although I have no idea what it means I assume it is good.
Adv. & Disadv. of each would be much appreciated.
BTW I looked for a pure smiter guide, didn't find one.

You can't use Might at the same time as Fanaticism (unless the aura comes from Merc/Runeword like Last Wish). Thus, do NOT pump Might.
Pump Defiance. While you won't be using it, it will give a synergy bonus to Holy Shield, 15% defense/level.
Fanaticism has no synergies.
Try the 1 point smiter thread in the paladin forum.

ALso consider that Exile is a shield of choice for a PvM smiter, and it comes with and automatic lvl 15 Defiance. If you plan on using Exile, you might consider putting your points into something else. If you want might, I suggest getting the might merc from nm act 2.

Only hard points work for synergies, and since you aren't actually going to use defiance putting points there is still a good idea.
