i hear its a good pvp character, but some say that others would stack up so much res that it would even outpower ur conviction aura. are foh pallies still effective aggainst people who have super high resists or will they just completely get obliterated?

ES sorc
Wind druid
hammer or smite pally
^most common builds made on bnet yet ALL are good vs foh with either a form of armor spell or easily stacked resist.

FoH'dins can work well vs the unprepared. against an opponent who can stack out your conviction and add in even a gm 1piece of sorb, you're kind of screwed.
foh'ers kind of need a full suite of pcombats to be effective in any event.
Just for the math, even a gosu FoHer can still be stacked against. Let's assume you're wearing perfect griffon's w/ facet (-25), foh stick (-30), and -150% conviction. Going any further sacrifices either the great bonuses from Hoz or mobility from Enigma. So you have a total of -200 just by yourself. Hell adds another 100, and the victim needs another 75 to get to max. So the victim needs 375 lightning resist. I will give just one example, I'm sure there are many others.
Assume you are a sorc of some kind. You'd wear Shako, Hoto (40), Coh (65), four topazed monarch (160), mara's (30), t-gods, maybe two wisps. Total of 295 res. Add in anyas which makes 325. Then you can add in a torch and an anni which gives you 365.
Stick an Um in your shako and you are set. Or use two charms with 5% resist all.

Wow... That is some intense stack. You now have a total of 40FCR too. Gimping your build like that brings your chance of success back to maybe. Oh, and Ort Kiras (80-100light res ;-)) is a nice helm.
Anyways, I kind of see FOH as a backup skill. Although it can work well on its own, it can be stacked against fairly well, so a secondary attack can do wonders. Have a read up on T/Vs or Mages. Both use FOH as a damaging skill and are very capable PvP characters.
