Just wondering whether items that give +skills will increase the level of the items equipped with a "chance to cast"

example

if I am wearing Mara's ammy which gives +2 to all skills

and have a Rift weapon on a kick assassin. will the lvl 21 frozen orb on Rift be turned into level 23 by the Mara's amulet?

if so that would be fantastic, if not oh well. Please confirm

Thanks!!!!

Nope. The level of the proc stays the same.

What about on infinity? If your merc is wearing it, and has a helm with +skills, do those not affect the aura?

Charges, Chance to Cast, and equip-auras cannot be boosted by skill bonuses. However, +_% elemental damage (including masteries), -_% enemy resistance, and synergies* can boost them.

*synergies can be used to boost these, but the opposite is NOT true (i.e. charges, CTCs, and equip-auras can't synergize other skills).

EDIT: And just for some extra info:
CTCs can stack if they're the same skill and level. Only the chance will increase when stacking.
-10% lvl 5 nova will stack with 15% lvl 5 nova, giving you 25% chance of lvl 5 nova.
-10% lvl 5 nova will NOT stack with 15% lvl 3 nova.

Different spell/level CTCs are independent of each other. If you have 75% chance of spell A happening and 25% chance of spell B happening, you won't always have one of them going off. Neither can go off, one can go off, or (I think) both can go off at once.

Equip-auras of the same type on the same character (1 on character and 1 on mercenary doesn't work) will have their levels stacked.

Charges don't stack in any way.

Cool!!!

thanks for the clarification... however if that is true, why has no one made a frenzy barb dual weilding Rifts... how cool would that be!

Because CtCs don't stack across weapons (just like CB, DS, leech, etc.)

If your looking to increase the damage on orb , then you can lower the enemies res via conviction or lower res increase your damage. You can also use the standard facets to increase both the skill damage % in addition to further lowering enemy res.

Here's my take on a Rift kicker HC style K/T
