Hello everyone. I've got a Pure Bizzard Sorceress, who is about to max out (20 Blizzard, 20 Glacial Spike, 20 Frozen Orb, 20 Ice Bolt), and I'm wondering what I should do with the rest of the skill points? Should I max out Cold Mastery? Should I go for a ~15 points of a Fire or Lightning Skill?

I have +8 all skills, +9 fire skills, +11 cold skills. It isn't likely to increase in any dramatic way.

Thanks!

What the?.. Frozen Orb on a Blizzsorc??

Blizzsorc is usually built like this:

20 Blizzard
20 Glacial Spike
20 Ice Blast
17 or 27 (with +skills) Cold Mastery
Rest in Ice Bolt

Sorry, that was just a typing/memory mistake. I meant Ice Blast.

I maxed out Ice Bolt before doing Cold Mastery. Getting to 17 or 27 Cold Mastery is recommended? Why? Does it provide significant increase to damage?

I recommend to pump CM one of the first skills - every point in it gives you much more damage than any synergy.

As for 17/27 in CM:

17 for normal gameplay. Reason is, you can't go below -100% resists on a monster, and lvl 17 CM is just the number.

27 is if you run Mpehisto. He has 75% cold resist, so lvl 27% CM is needed to bring it down to -100%, at which point you will HURT him with every single hit of Blizzard or Ice Blast (the helper skill versus bosses, HUEG dmg).

level 27 is "only" enough for -150% from mastery, leaving Meph with -75% resists. So you can push all the way to level32 CM before additional points are useless for Meph runs. I think the level27 is the maximum for Pindleskin runs.[/nitpick]

<--- that's discounting any additional -resists such as Rainbow Facets.

@Ikeren, you should definitely get your CM to at least level17. Personally, I'd just put any additional points (beyond 17) into CM.

At this point, you're unlikely to get much benefit ~10 skillpoints elsewhere (Teleport, Static Field and Warmth, and maybe the cold armors, are the other "best" options - in my order of preference).

Hmmm, I'll probably go pure cold mastery, in that case, since I am unlikely to get +skill damage. Thanks guys.

(Is a Blizzer a good Pindle Runner? I've never had much luck with him).

Yes, provided that you can survive his charges (or use ice blast). He is sometimes cold immune, but your merc can take care of it.

I second pumping CM. A bliz sorc is for running Meph and Pindle, not rushing people or just fooling around in hell, since you're pure cold. And spam glacial spike in between blizzards against pindle and his minioins.
