for a hammerdin, is it better to spend points in dex to get max block, or is it better to spend them in vit for more heath.

I prefer Max Block. With Holy Shield, its easy enough to achieve, even moreso if you opt for HoZ over Spirit (Go Spirit).

Blocking 75% of stuff is nice, and helps quite a bit. I still hit 2.2k base with mine with max block on a Spirit ST. I only had to go 100 Base dex, which wasn't the big a deal.

and if you use mp for your nig + the st for spirit then you dont have to spend anything into str at all, leaving it all for your vit.

Well maybe for pvp I'd go max block but spirit is definitely better for a hammerdin and the dex requirement is too high without sacrificing lots of vit you'll need for both pvp and pvm. I'd sit at over 50 block and you probably won't notice a difference. For pvm you definitely don't need max block.

Spirit's required dex is too high? What shield are you using? Monarch? With a sacred targe, the amount of dex I need was barely more than that I need for equipping my grief PB on switch.

A paladin without max block is not a paladin, but rather some sick joke that scoffs at the ease of which a paladin can archive max block.
